Thls empowerment saw a rlse In young volunteers regardless of personal background, faith, dlsabillt or wlder rsonal circumstances. Achievements and Performance SORP reler This year has seen the charity successfully receiving 2 granls to renovate the facllltles at the hall, particularly the installation of a DDA compliant toilet and effective, energy efflclent heating. Both Improvements enable the Guiding unlt and the hall to be more accessible and Incluslve to any glrl or ¢ommunlty member wishing to participate. These gfants have also meant the hall has begun to b8 opened up lor wlder use. such as othei communlty group meetlngs and activities. We will continue io make the hall flt for use and alm to open to communfty hlre for small ovonts and clubs. Pai# 1.20 10th Barry Guldos provlde a safe space for 34 glrls aged 10-14. 2023 was a faniastlc year for our unlt. In 2023 our unlt has ¢elebratod World Thinklng Day 2023 whh a celebratlon of the countrles of the world. Over 20 of our Guldes camped for the weekend at Strategy camp 2023. In the wlnter, 17 of our Guides took part In a dlstrlct trip to Disneyland and Paris. This was the first trip abroad In over 30 years for our unlt. Finally In December we celebrated our 90th annlversary ol the unft. Wa had an awards cèremony where 17 Guldes recelved thelr Gold awards, and over 15 recalved Sllver or Bronze. In December also collocted grfts for the elderly of Barr and dellvered them. Financial Review Review of the tharity's financial position al the end of the period 1.21 Cash at bank on 3111212023 for the unit is £182.13, lor the hall is £6029.41. There are no concerns over the flnanclal posltlon of the Guide Unit, wlth Increasing Gulde numbers. Regarding the hall management account actions are In place to reach a balanced budget for 2024. This will move away from the reliance on grant funding and look creating a more resilient financial posltion wfth regular hlre of the hall. Thls will also ensure the Gomrnunity benefit from a cost- effective facllit for actlvltles and events. The Group's policy on reserves is to hold sufficient resources to continue the charitable activities of the group should income and fundraisin activities fall short.
