Guide & Scout Hall Fund
Charity number 524848
Annual Trustee Report: 2020
Trustees:
Janet Pierce, Helen Jones, Cindy Hughes, Sarah Roberts & Joy Hall
Charities activity:
This fundamentally remained the same as previous years, however due to two major events – namely the hall suffering severe flood damage due to winter storms and the Covid 19 pandemic, the Trustees faced a challenging year:
-
To Rectify the flood damage
-
Maintain girl guiding activities during the lengthy lock down period, when normal face to face activities could not take place.
-
Manage the ongoing loss of income resulting from not being able to hire out the hall to external organisation due to the Covid 19 restrictions, whilst paying for utilities and insurance required for hall maintenance.
Meeting the challenges:
-
Financing the flood damage was managed via the buildings insurance policy. Work was eventually completed late in 2020/early 2021. This being delayed by the Covid 19 restrictions.
-
The girl guiding activities took place online via the Zoom platform (which was paid for by a small grant from Tesco’s), plus a couple of outdoor face to face events when permitted.
-
The loss of income was managed via the Welsh Government Covid 19 grant, for which the fund was eligible.
Income & expenditure:
Income = £26,080.34 (including the £10,000 Welsh Government grant and the £12,204 insurance payment)
Expenditure= £8,254.46
Future plans:
To continue activities as usual, managing the ongoing pandemic related challenges and restrictions.
To continue to fund raise to pay for the renovations to the hall requires.
Report compiled by Joy Hall and agreed by all Trustees.
