Clubs held at County Office on Thursdayy 7 November 2024 at 7.30 pm. THE PRESIDENT - The President, Mr A Nott, w¢l¢omed 69 rnember5 and friends. ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2023124 presented by Miss C Potter. Miss Pottcr 8aid she could not believe how the year had flown by. The year started with members attending the harvest s¢rYice at Worcester Cathedrdl where all clubs broughi their offcrings, from wool to flowers and soil to Chee to show what farn)¢rs produce. Ji was great to see all ¢lubs in their whit¢ coats Tepresentitkg us. The competition calendar stsned withten pin bowling at Hollywood Bowl Pub Quiz ai The Bridge, Stanford Bridge and finished the month with ih¢ public speaking senior ¢omp¢titions, with most clubs entering. Christtnas came and sadly the annual Nativitylcarol ee was cancelled as the market were unable to host the event. In January. the junior and slr member of the year competitions w¢r¢ held. After which a stnall group of members went to Val Thorens skiing. They hxd a grcat time and it was amazing to have an oversea trip back on the YFC calendar. Thank you to Molly Phillips for organising it. After which disco dancing was held and the sports competitions- dynamos cricket 2nd volleyball, followed by the junior and stockman of th¢ year kindly hosled by Shakenhurst hall and Foxl¢y farni. Thank6 w¢nt to judges and st¢wards and the Abberley parents who ran th¢ r¢frcshmcnts. The day Ian smoothly attd there was a fantsstic entry of members. Febrnary was a very hectic mon¢h as Miss PotteT'S dog had a litter of pups on the morning of the Ent¢rtainmcntS C02npelition and sh¢ s¢t herlf a rhall¢ng¢ of walking 100 miles for Cancer Research raising £202 altogether. However. the Entertainment ompetition was back at the Notbury Theatre and the auditorium was nearly full. This competition really does show what YFC has to offer. It was an enjoyable day and Cutnall Green came away with the win. The nexi compclition was our Hedge laying kindly hosted by Churchfi¢lds with a few junior members takin¥ on the hedges and they did a gr¢AI job, for a few of ihem it was their first time. Hedge laying is not held by many counties do il so it was great to w¢ that Wor¢ester call still carry thi8 on. Pre show and Rally were looming and with Rally being a lot earlier ID the month this year the clubs started their preparations. At thc bcgtnning of April the Horse Sto¢kjudging competition was held kindly hosted by Sallyanne Bwns at Culverne55 Farni with the first prize cards being given out. Ai this point in the month Miss Potter and Mr$ Symonds wcre thinking how th¢y ¢ould k¢¢p in rontact and on track with Mr Jono Bradley who wa8 the Rally ChaiT- we came to the conclusion we should just nag. having the same answ¢r 'yes 'l'm on it, or'l haven't forgottsn about it l just haven't done it.. The second biggest date in the YFC calendar was the Pre Show live and CaTCaS¢ Judging, as usual a huge thank you to Thc Griffiths at Leintwardine for letting members judge in th¢ir abattoir and for kindly getting the stock in and to Mr R Bem8nd for organising and supporting herself and Mr Bradley in this competition.

Pre Show day was an all_round YFC day - lot8 of ¢ncrgy> rivalry and secretly cal¢ulating how they werc g¢tting on. Again thank you to Judges and St¢wards and Tenbury YFC for numing th¢ refreshments. Aft¢r Mrs Symonds and Miss Potter had wondered if Mr Brndley had bccn a good choice but he would go down in bistory as bcing one ot th¢ bcst. In the week up to Rally stress levels ran higb, bul we were all in good spirits. Mr Bradley's nickname for our chief stewards. MT P Rose and Mr R Pinfield, were The Etclcs broth¢rs as at cvery tea break an Ee¢l¢s ¢ake was consumed. Mr Bradley wa8 the p¢rf¢¢t support and person to have around you when organising a rally. The week flcw by and I l May soon arrived I'm sure we can all agree Rally wus a day tilled with enjoyment, entertainment and everything else in between. Miss Potter thanked the President. Alan Nott and his family, for letting the members hold the rally at 'Bullockhuist Farni,. It w&8 a p¢rfe¢i venue and the County were very graieful. The Rally has always been an event on thc calendar, but this y¢ar Mr Bradley atMI the Rally eommitt¢¢ made a profil of £3,000. A huge thank you to Mr Pinfield, Mr Rose, Mrq Symondg, Mrs J Ross and of cour8¢ Mr JB himself. also to the memb¢rs who came each evening to set up and on thc Sunday lo help lear doHTr and to th¢ Lions for helping on th¢ door, Car parking and the bar. Miss Poller said that Mrs Symonds was ama7.ing working two jobs, looking after Mark and Thom and her second family- YFC. She would n¢vcr have taken on the role as Chair without h¢r support. She truly was one in a million. She is an incr¢dible lady and the Mefflbe are so lucky to have her. After th¢ Rally, there was a few w¢¢ks restbefore 5UPPOrting our Wor¢¢st¢rshiT¢committee at the Thr¢¢ Counties, my Vtce-chair Harry was Three Counties Chair, and past member Judith Davi¢s was Secretary. Three days of Competing against Hereford and Gloucester and this y¢aT was ihe ¢10st the points have ever been. w0¢stershIre won the Juniorand main exhibit5 and looked in a good position. However sadly we catne away with 3rd position again but ¢los¢ly behind Gloucester. Members really put iheir all into every competition and were winner5 in our eyes. A well don¢ must go to Georgina Johnson, Annalise Burns and Matt Winter. who represented Worcestershire in th¢ National Cookery finals finishing 16th out of 30 and to Alanie Parfitt from AbbcTlcy YFC for finishing 16th out of 34 in her Floral Art National final Competition. The summer w&$ th¢n in full swing and all clubs were havin8 socials. rounders matches and pub of th¢ months. Sadly, on the 3 August we lost one of our life vice-presidents, MT John Fellows. This g¢ntl¢m8o was a huge support to YFC and w¢ pas8 on our deepest condolences to th¢ family. After Rally, I had promi¥cd tbe members that w¢ would have an 80th ball to celebrate WFYFC. Lookirtg into prices it was rather expensive. Howevm. Ali Kirk and Jen Tyson found a marquee thai would be up a week after the hosts, daughter's wedding. There were 6 we¢ks to see if it could be turned around and with YFC contscts we obviously rould!! Mi55 Potter thanked Aaron's di0,$, Tim fn)m Mag4¢ Bars, Nikki's Catering and her girls, members and past m¢mber4 for buying the tables and most ot all a huge thank you to the 'Lewis FaTnily' at Tack Farni for making this all COTne together. It wa5 the perfect venu¢, and the whole evening was just pcrfect. Miss Potter's year had come to an end. she had done what she ted to do, which was lor everyone to have fun, make fn.ends and to enjoy YFC. As Chair of Abberley she had ncvcr run a YFC doo as the members were not old enough to rnn one. She did shock Mr Pinfield wh¢n on the Wednesday of Rally week she told him sh¢ had never done anything lik¢ this b¢fore. But now she had done one doo and organts¢d & black tic ball in less than 6 wccks. with everyone's support. Her Vice Chair, Mr Harry Thatcher, will mak¢ an amazing Chair for Worcester in the coming year and the County would be in safe hands.

This was seconded by Mr H Watson. THE ANNUAL REPORT FOR 202312024 wa5 unanimou51y adopted by the meetin& STATEMENT OF ACCOULYTS FOR 202312024 presented by Mrs J Rose {County Treasurer). In prcscnting th¢ accounts lo 31 August 2024, Mrs Rosc said that thc G¢n¢ral account, which ha5 bccn ¢mailed to members, showed a profit of £3,252 after setting aside £2,0(K) for painting Mrs Synionds's, offi¢¢ and other repairs that werc needed. Quotes b¢illg obtained to update the security system and replacing all the cameros. £6,(100 had been put aside for this, although trAn8posed in the accounts. The Building Fund had made a Small 1055 of £769 after contributing £13,500 iowards salari¢s, paying for county insuran¢¢, putling in a new soakaway for the septic tank and rq)ainting the car parking lines. She thanked the Trnsleeg for th¢ir assistance towards the Nnnit]g of the county office. Befor¢ going through the accounts, Mrs Rosc thanked Mrminett forhiswork over th¢ y¢ar$ and adviscd that a new MpanY had taken over the accounts resultivkg in some changes to the year'$ figures as it had now been computerisd and some adjustments made to align their r¢¢ords to her Sage accounts. The main one being the Indep¢nd¢nl Examin¢rs' feewhich had gone up to £1,100 this y¢&r and in¢lud¢d home visits to h¢rselland Mrs S Goodwin, the Buildings Treasurer, in order to update their ¢otnputers so they a8re¢ with their records. They had also add¢d £732 ro this as last year's fee was paid during this finala1 year giving the figure of £ 1.832 in the accounts. As th¢ Summer Ball was in S¢pt¢mber, the profit for this will be in the next year's a¢¢ounts 80 the small loss on event5 were ihe costs of the old card maehin¢ which had been cancelled. Mrs Rose tIMnked everyone for their hard work the county show making a profit of £3,692. Room hire was down due to less hirings but rising costs. Thi$ was bcing looked at for the coming year. She thankcd Mrs SJ7nonds and Mrs E Tyler for theiT haTd work l(K)king afteT hiring. Bank ini¢rest Increased significantly thanks lo higher rate5 and the new notice account. Expens¢s h&d remained much the same apart from th¢ f¢e already explained and sundry expeDs¢s ¢ up becaus¢ AGM expenses are now irKluded in this also engraving of cups and purchase of juniors, wrist bands of which we have quite 2 frw in stock. The Bllilding nd had increased the amount of received. but costs had risen due to th¢ work done this year. On page 4, th¢ Balance Sheet showed tha¢ overnll, the Fcdcrnlion's funds had increased by £2,483, ag shown at the bottom of the page and showed how the ¢urr¢nt o¥sets were represented. these figures being the profits made over mony previous years.

COUNTY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER'S REPORT- Mrs S Symond8 said that'the more you put into things the more you get out" was very apt during the last year. Sh¢ did not ¥0 through the whole year of competitions but wanted to highlight s few. Not being keen on the drama e4)mpetition it was decided to hold entertainments instead and seeing all the talent on stage makes all the papcrwork well worth it and $¢¢ing young shy members perforniing in front of a fvll theatre madc herproud. Shc was al extremely pleaed to be approached by the thedtT¢ asking if any m¢mber¥ would be keen to join a produclion and then rhe magerpdISlng the members. behaviour and offering to book again next year. This sttyaiion is what mAk¢ YFC great. When Miss Potter said sbe would lik¢ to be County Chair, she said she already had & Venue in mind for the Rally. It was a perfect and the Nott family m2d¢ ¢vcryon¢ feel so w¢lcome. She always had faith in Mr Jono Brxdl¢y as Rally Chair and he was fantastic making it fun with an enthusiastic bu and sh¢ thanked him. Tbc standard of COMlI10n was much high¢r and had a good mix of judges and 8twards with Ms J¢n Ross keeping her smiling with the preparation work and reminiscing. The staudard of the winners w&8 shown off again at the Royal Three Counties Show with Worcestershire winning a r¢cord number of trophies, itwluding besl exhibit, best junior exhibit and YFC talent trophy. Seeing a l O year old from Manley dancing in fmnt of a crowd was special as was another junior Nshing from tug of war to ¢ak¢ decoralin8 in which she came first. These would b¢ the members of the fvbjre. Her son was very pleas¢d to see Kaleb ceT from Clarkson's Farn) in the YFC marquee. With all the highs. there had been Iow5. The loss of Mr Charlie Latham from Inkberrow and Mr Roger Allard from Upton were both ttue Club supporters. Thc biggest lo&s though w&$ Mr Jobn Fellows, the best ima¥e of him was being pushed around In his chair whilst eating th¢ bigges199 ice cream with a big grin on his face, a true gent with the biggest heart. Each year Mr& SymorLds tried to put on training course8, including first aid, which it was hop¢d would never bc needed. Howevcr, the faniily of one member who took the course had rcason to use her knowledg¢ to help her father, thankllY with a happy outcome. Mrs Symonds would bc putting on aTtother ¢ourse and encourdged members to attend. NFYFC finals eomplcted the comp¢lition year with congratulations going to Alanie Parfjtt Coming 16 out of 34 in the Floral Art National final, Georgina Johnson, AralISe Burns and Matt Winter, who finishcd 16th out of 30 in the Nalional C(K)kery finals. From betng a shy new Abberley member it was a pleasure seeing her go from Club Chair to County Chair and will miss the late night messages. She thanked her from hcrsclf and the memb¢rs. MTS Maiden had been Upton's Chairn18n and Tre&sureI befor¢ going to Haer Adams and was thcn County Chairn]an in 2012, also Three Counti( YFC Chair, Secretary and Rally Chair for Mr W Parry. She was onc of th¢ Har¢ombe family and now ITved in Cutnall Green wilh her husband and two children. She was a director of Pivtstone and looks forward to her ¢hildrcn being the fourth gen¢ration of YF members. Mr Sabbato joined Cutnall Green YFC in 1984 taking various roles including Club Chair. He was County Chair in 1992-3, Chair of Three Counties YFC section in 1995 for the bicentenary year and is now Life Vice President of Cutnall Cjreen YFC. He enjoyed all ¢omp¢titions and had a go at cake decorating and cookcry and he wa5 County Quizmaster 10 year$. When he was a County officer he was heavily involved with the purchase and build ()f Shire8 Farni. "Sab" was married and they havc two boys, one having alr¢ady joined Martley YFC. Mr Lee joined YFC at 16 And after taking various mles wfts Club c.hair at 25. He had trav¢ll¢d to Awstralia and Ncw Zealand and to Canada on an InternaÈiotwi Agncultural exchange. He had work¢d on pig, rKTrtato And dairy fanns and wa5 now a fencing contra¢toi. Wliilsl a member. he enjoyed all compdilions, esrrtcially sports and Friday doo's meeting other ¢lub members. He is married with a daubiht¢r and has recently become Wythall YFC President. This wa8 seconded by Mr O Raybould. The Resolution was carried unanimously by th¢ meding.

He said thi5 marked thirty years sinc¢ the building and land were purchased and it continued su¢¢essthlly provid¢ a good income for the federation and a fabulous HQ to be proud of. The tenants had r¢mained the same and he thank¢d them for their ¢ontiDued support, particularly Mrs E Tyler who was the first tenant in 2005 and, as well as running her buff¢ts business, h¢lp¢d to keep the meeting room clean and ready for hirers. The meeting room is not only used for YFC but is busy being hir¢d out to oth¢r organisations. He thanked Mrs Symonds as much of thai success being due to hcr running it smoothly and promoting further se to prospective hir¢rs. It was important lo keep the facilities up to d2tc and fresh. The whole building had been painted inside througholl¢ white lines rq)aint¢d in the car park and a new soak away installe The groun&8 had been well maintained and general mainienance cTied out and thanks go to Mr N Tyler forall he does. COUNTY BUILDING (Continued)- Looking ahead, s(TrlaT panels would be installed and also an alternative source of heating lo the oil in order to bring the building up to date and mak¢ il as efficient a¥ P)5sible whilst reducing the carbon foOtprt. An update on s¢¢urity* particularly CCTV. was also on th¢ agenda. A plan to fence off an area for clubs to use for outside activities would get und¢nvay soon. A mccting had been held with Mr P BoM)es alld Miss A Crump from the agents DoorbaTS who manage the rentals proved beneficial and this would now be held annually. H¢ thanked them for their support. Mr Yarnold thanked his fellow Trustees, Mr F Harcombe, Mr$ H Moul¢ and Mrs D Jackson for their support and the Federdtion for cntrnsting them with the amazing f&ility of which members should be immensely proud.
