The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 {th¢ 2011 Act) and that an indcpendeiit examination is needed. The Federation is administered by the Executive Committee. which is made up of two i'¢pi'es¢ntatives from every affiliated Young Farmers Club witliin the County of Staffordshire together with Coiinty Officers, Vice Pi'esidents and co-opted Ineinb¢rs. Only the two representatives from each Club may vote on this Committee. The Management Committee is comprised of the Chairmaii, Vice Chairn]an, The President, Treasurer, Personnel Officer. HR Officer, County Trustees and tlie Couiity Oi'ganiser. Three other Coinmittees have existed during the ciirrent financial year being Social & Funding, Development and Compelitions. These Committees concentrate on the detailed work of their respective responsibilities and report to the ExeLulive Committee. 'rhe Trustees considei. that the Federation has had a very encouiaging year in terms of membership levels which have i'emained stroiig despite a I'etiini lo mol'e normal membership siibsci'iptions following the heavy subsidisation post-covid. STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS, CLUBS Certain events will continue to be held which will target primarily past young lamiers, such as the Annual Vice Presidents Dinner Dance and following th¢ success of the previous ABBA Tribufr Night held in conjunction with Siaffordshire & Binningham Agricultural Society we will be holding a Queen Tribute Night in 2024. These events ensure that the YFC movement remains well positioned in the minds of parents. relatives and friends of potential new members. The attached financial statements show the state of the finances at 31 August 2023, which th¢ Trustees consider to be satisfactory. Members of the Trustees and Management committee have contributed significantly towards the updating of policies that cover Standards of Personal Behaviour, Alcohol use and Disciplinary and Complaints Procedures and are currently working on an updated constitution. The Staffordshire County Federation of Young Fanners Clubs has liquid funds totalling £61,426. This represents just under seven months of average total expenditure for the last 5 years. This figure is slightly less than that recommended by the Charity Commission. The Trustees consider this ratLO to be adequate in relation to the activities of the Staffordshire County Federation of Young Fanners Clubs and the ratio should continue in subsequent years. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Statement of colnpliance The financial slatements have been prepaied in accordance with Accounting and Reporling by Charities= Statement of Recotninended Practice applicable to charities preparing their aecounts in accordance wilh the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of ITeland (FRS 102}- (Charitie5 SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. Depreciatio Depreciation is calculated to write off ihe cost or valuation less estimated residual value of tangible assets over their estimated use[ lives at the following rate5: Leasehold Property is showii in the Balance Slieet at Net Book Value aiid depreciation is being ivritten off over th¢ term of the lease of 60 yeaTS in equal annual aTnounts. Depreciation is cl)arged in equal installments on subsequent improvernents over a liseful life as deemed appropriate for each individual improvement. The property is CUJTently insured for £359,451. Trophie5 All trophies owned by th¢ Federation at 31August 2023 ivere valued by independent valuer dui'ing the fJnan¢ial year to 31" August 2016 and were deenied lo have the value of £27,640 for insui'ance purposes.
