The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their Annual Report together with the Financial Statements for the year ended 30 September 2023.

Reference and Administration Details:

The Charity’s principal address is Stafford Avenue, Clayton, Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 3BX.

The names of the Charity Trustees who manage the Charity are detailed below:

Jason Nicholas Britton (appointed 16 January 2012); and Christopher Neil Turner (appointed 6 August 2021).

The Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

Structure, Governance and Management:

The Charity is governed by its Constitution. The Charity is constituted by Association. Trustees are elected by members.

Objectives and Activities:

The object of the Charity is to provide a sports hall and equipment for the use of coaching courses for sporting activities mainly cricket, badminton, indoor bowls, and five-a-side soccer. Also, for the use for players with disabilities and for schools.

Key Management Personnel Remuneration:

The Trustees consider the Board of Trustees as the key personnel of the Charity in charge of the directing and controlling the Charity, running, and operating the Charity on a day-to-day basis.

All Trustees have given their time freely and no remuneration was paid in the year.

Financial Review:

The attached Financial Statements show the current state of finances, which the Trust considers to be satisfactory.

The Financial Statements have been prepared on a ‘receipts and payments’ basis. The Charity did not meet the criteria for having to prepare Financial Statements for the years ending 30 September 2021 and 2022. No comparatives have been provided.

Report to the Trustees of Stone and District Sports Association

For the Year Ended 30 September 2023

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the Accounts of the above Charity (‘the Trust’) for the year ended 30 September 2023.

As the Charity Trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s Accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention

in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
