Treasurers Report for 2021 Accounts
The Kibworth Village Hall had been impacted by the pandemic but only the earlier part of 2021 when compared to most of 2020.
The Village Hall takings were up by 54% on the previous year to £13,566 due to a reduced effect of Covid , which limited the hall use but only affected the first 3 months of 2021.
After deducting expenses and running costs, net rental income was a postive £1,797, compared to the previous year of negative positive £-5,429. A purchase of platform ladders, amounting to £500, allowed a cleaning of the hall’s wooden beams and the top of the arch windows, which are to the sides of the building.
The normal annual Burns night and regular film nights were cancelled due to Covid.
The hall opened for the Village Late night shopping event in December and proved to be popular, the small income from stallholders was donated to a charity.
In addition to normal activities, the Village Hall committee were successful in obtaining a number of Covid related grants and a net £8,000 grant from Awards for All. In total, grants amounted to a total of £29,003. These grants were deposited in the building society, pending a review of maintenance and improvements required.
At the end of the year, the cash funds remaining totalled £77,687, which was significantly higher on the previous year’s cash position. The cash balance was deemed very satisfactory and £55,000 would be held in the building society pending decisions on further building works.
