REPORT) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 The Tnjstees present their annual r8PDrt and financial statemenls the Year ended 31 March 2024. The accounts have been prepa￿d in accordan￿ with the accounting poliaes set out in note 1 to ttE accounts and comply with the Charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practtce applicable to charits'es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). (as amended for aCC￿nting periods commencing from 1 January 2016) Objectives and actlvlties The Charity's objects are.. - to provide for and nurture the personal development of young people of the City of Liverpool irrespective of race, colour. sex. ability or social background. - to equip them to participate fully in their community and to take their place in a changing soaety by developing participative and decision making skills- and to create opportunities and programmes so that they experience. understand and value the views, ideas and life styles of other young people in the city and also nationally and intemationally. The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in d￿ldIng what actlvrtles the Charity should undertake on public benefit. Achlevements and performance Throughout the year, th8 Club has continued to provide Its members with facilities required to further their intelledual, physical, cultural and social education. The enthusiasm of the Club's staff ensure a diverse range of activities was off8r8d, which induded sporting, recreational, artistic, musical and technology based experiences. Flnanclal revlew It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted fijnds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to betsveen three and six month's expenditure. The Trustees consider that reserves at this level wll ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the Charity's ent activities while consideration is given to ways in vthich additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has not been maintained throughout the year and the position is currently being addressed. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. Structurei governance and management The Charity was incorporated on 18th June 1987 and is a company limited by guarantee and therdore. has no share capital. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below. 1.2 Going concern At the time of approving the financial ststements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the TTUStees continue to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the financial ststements. 1.3 Charltable funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtheran￿ of IF￿1r charitable objectives. Restrlcted funds are subject to speciflc conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The purposes arxl uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
