Para 1.20 During the current year with Covid
Restrictions a lot of activities in the Village
Hall have been curtailed. Groups have
continued when restrictions allowed,
ensuring that Covid secure measures are
taken whilst still providing a community
service.
However, we have used the period to make a
number of improvements to the fabric of the
building (which has continued into the year
2021-22) including treatment of damp (dry
lining, replastering), roof work, modernising
the lighting and refitting storage areas so
that increased use of the facilities post covid
are not disrupted by improvement works

financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 On 30/04/21, assets held in the bank totaled
£40,018.63. Assets increased from
£27,444.70 at the start of the reporting year
due mainly to local and central government
grants to community organizations during
the covid pandemic. The building
improvement works described above are
ongoing and yet to be paid from the assets.

sources of funds (including

hall letting and fundraising events organized
by the committee (e.g. quizzes and other
social events). Major refurbishment projects
were funded by individual grants (e.g. Shire
grants, Awards for All). In the current
reporting period, funding has been primarily
through covid related support grants and we
expect to revert to the normal funding
pattern as the pandemic receeds.
