Aims of the Club
-
To help people and communities in need of support.

To encourage the education and development of young people, including their social, leadership and sporting skills, both locally and internationally.

To help worldwide communities with limited resources or stricken by disease, conflict or natural disasters.
Fund-raising
Funds were raised in 2023 – 24 from:
- 100 Club; Individual donations; Rotary District grant; Social and fund-raising events; Riviera Travel Affinity Scheme; Pirelli Parade; Collections; Weekly raffle; Rotary Foundation donations
People and Communities
The following support was provided in 2023 -- 24:

Befriending phone calls, advice and support to lonely people identified through the Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT), including paying for them to attend an Over 50s Christmas lunch at Pirelli Stadium.

Continuing the delivery of hospital packs to the needy when discharged from hospital, providing essential food and other items.
-
Leadership and participation in the running of a weekly Carers Café for those caring for the disabled, particularly those with dementia, and the people they care for.

Organising and paying for the attendance of 40 disabled people and carers at a pantomime held in the Brewhouse, Burton upon Trent.

Mock interviews of clients about to leave the Burton Addiction Centre.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF BURTON UPON TRENT CHARITABLE TRUST This report is attached to the accounts of the Rotary Club of Burton upon Trent Charitable Trust for the year ended 30th June 2024 and is in respect of an examination carried out on the accounts unijer s 145 of the Charities Act 2011. RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER The charitV'5 trustees are responsible forthe preparation of the account5. The charlty's trustee5 consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charitios Act 2011 (tho Ch3rities Art) and that 3n independent examination is needed, It is my re5ponslbllity to: examine the accounts under sectlon 145 of the Charitles Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions glven by the Charity Commission (under section 145151(b) of the Charities Actl, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT My examinatien was carried out In accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commi55i0n, An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts with those records, It also includes con5iderlng any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seekin8 exp18nations from you as trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, arid consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fairf view and the report Is Ilmlted to th05e matters set out in the statement below. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT In Connectlon with my examination no matter has come to my attention: I which 8ive5 me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requlrements to keep accountlng record5 in accordance with section 130 of the Charltles Act; to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Ch3rltles Act have not been met,.
