The choir has performed three public concerts. During the Christmas period carols were sung in a local Old Persons Home and as part of a service in a rural church. The choir also held a Carol Concert with half of the profits being donated to the local Food Bank. |

Para 1.38 | The Choir is fully run by volunteers. A range of jobs are covered including trustees, committee, providing refreshments at rehearsals, fundraising through raffles at rehearsals, providing front of house support at concerts and organising staging / seating at concerts. |

Para 1.20 | Performing several concerts each year contributes to the cultural life of the town and surrounding area. Details for the 2023-24 period were:- April 2023 – the Choir performed St Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach - benefits were education and enjoyment of the music by the audience. July 2023 – Summer Concert – a more informal selection of musical items – the main benefit of this concert is enjoyment of music on a summer afternoon. November 2023 – the Choir performed Donna Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Requiem by Gabriel Fauré – benefits were education and enjoyment of the music by the audience. Christmas 2023 – carol singing at a local residential home - benefits are the known effect of music on mental health - carol singing in a local rural church - benefits, the enhancement of the service for the parishioners - a concert of Christmas Songs and Carols with a donation od £300 made to the local Food Bank - it helped to supply food parcels over the Christmas period In addition, the members benefit by belonging to the choir, in particular regarding the effect on physical and mental health and quality of life. |
