|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Performing several concerts each year<br>contributes to the cultural life of the town<br>and surrounding area.<br>Details for the 2023-24 period were:-<br>April 2023 – the Choir performed St<br>Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian<br>Bach - benefits were education and<br>enjoyment of the music by the audience.<br>July 2023 – Summer Concert – a more<br>informal selection of musical items – the<br>main benefit of this concert is enjoyment of<br>music on a summer afternoon.<br>November 2023 – the Choir performed<br>Donna Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan<br>Williams and Requiem by Gabriel Fauré –<br>benefits were education and enjoyment of<br>the music by the audience.<br>Christmas 2023<br>– carol singing at a local residential<br>home - benefits are the known effect<br>of music on mental health<br>-<br>carol singing in a local rural church -<br>benefits, the enhancement of the<br>service for the parishioners<br>-<br>a concert of Christmas Songs and<br>Carols with a donation od £300<br>made to the local Food Bank - it<br>helped to supply food parcels over<br>the Christmas period<br>In addition, the members benefit by<br>belonging to the choir, in particular<br>regarding the effect on physical and mental<br>health and quality of life.|
