Examiner’s Report — Clitheroe Rotary (2024-2025)
I have examined the financial records ofClitheroe Rotary for the year 2024 to 2025.
Total income for the year was approximately £27,000, with £25,000 distributed to charitable causes. I am pleased to report that no concerns were identified in relation to bookkeeping or record-keeping; the accounts were found to be clear, accurate, and well maintained.
The club faced some challenges during the year in securing and operating banking arrangements, largely due to the closure of local branches. The use of multiple bank accounts during this period added some complexity to the bookkeeping process, particularly in maintaining a clear distinction between general funds and charitable funds, including members’ donations. Despite this, records were maintained to an appropriate standard.
The club is to be congratulated on a successful Charity Golf Day, which was the main fundraising event of the year. In addition, Clitheroe Rotary continues to support shared fundraising initiatives, including the Santa Collection and the Clitheroe Bonfire, both of which contribute to funds raised for charitable purposes.
It is encouraging to note that funds have been distributed across a good mix of local and national causes, reflecting the club’s continued commitment to supporting both the immediate community and wider charitable needs.
Overall, this has been a positive year, demonstrating sound financial management and ongoing dedication to charitable work.
