TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2021
The trustees have the pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2021.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The purposes of the village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Beeley without distinction of political religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants
SUMMARY OF THE MAIN ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN RELATION TO THESE OBJECTS
In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustees meetings.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Lottery funding
We have undertaken the works in the grounds, and we have planted the memorial Belay Pippin apple tree; this is planted at the front of the hall for the Hawksworth family.
Beeley in Bloom
This is our main fundraiser which had to be cancelled due to Covid we did however carry on with renewal of the storage heaters so we would not fall behind in the renovation plan and we did manage to run the duck race as a fund raiser. We used half of the Derbyshire Dales business grant in lieu of funding that we usually raise for the works.
Due to many of the groups not existing in Beeley the committee undertake two events traditional in the village the Easter egg hunt and party with Father Christmas for the children. (Previously the Beeley leisure committee used to undertake these.) because of Covid we light the grounds up and Santa had a grotto in our new corner seat, (despite the weather).
Easter 2020, we did not undertake a hunt again this year as Covid 19, instead the Easter bunny made a delivery on each step with a basket of eggs.
Governance
The trust deed has been reviewed and we have worked on a newer constitution that can work under the trust deed bearing in mind that the representative groups no longer exit.
We follow a financial reserve policy that will enable us to run for a year if something happens to income.

TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2021
The Hall has a program of improvements that will take us to 2025 at the very earliest depending on funding as we must return to renewing the outside fabric of the building. We will need a new floor in the big hall shortly.
We have produced an Annual and General leaflet every year that informs the community where we have obtained grants and what it has been spent on.
