Applications for assistance are enccwraged all are sympatheb"calty reviewed. The Tntslees are able to fund these activities because of the income from a portfolio of long-tenn. high yielding. Govemment SeCurrt￿s and Holdings. which enable funds to be made available to meet app&"cat￿nS when received. The ChariWs Funds comprise restricled EndOW￿nt Captsl Funds. the income from whith is used to ￿nd Grants within the temis of the Trust. All the other old persons. dubs ￿ care homes use their grants eiiher to fund a Christmas meal or to furKI a summer outing. All schools in Bilston can appty eath year for a grant. which is spent on enharKing fa(ilities at their schools or on funding school trips. The Scouts & Guides make use of1heir grants. fitsty. for making improvements lo their premises and secondty for group outings. Compton Care provides inwient & outpatient (2re for many Bdston residents. The Coronary Care Volunteers provide staff to supervise the afterc2re of heart attack patients. Beacon Cerrtre f( the Blind visit and supply Bilston residents with various aids. The Charity's involvement the disabled is tlwough ￿ants to Special schools that have a great need for fvnding for specialised equipment The Special schools and disabled s(Kieties also use their grants to enable carers to have a welpeamed break. Bilston Swimming Club used their g￿t for pwchasing competiton dothing. Achievements and perfommnce The Accounts for the year ended 31 Marth 2025. are shown on pages 7 10 14. The Statement of Financial Activities on page 7 shows the incoming resources available to the Trustees and the extent to which those funds have been spent. This. together with the Balance Sheet on page 8, shThvs that the CUfTent marf(et value of the Charity's Funds, from whth it will generate income to meet ts future oblwns. is £628.158. The Charty held £36,143 in bank balances and short-teTm deposits at 31 March 2025. and in the Trustees opinion, the Charity corth.nues to be in a posth'on to pursue rts charilable obJ"eclives in the future. Investment income has inueased in this year and the trusl is presenty able to meet all legitimate daims for grants. During the year the Charity has paid Grants raYJing fr(xn £100 to £6.820 to 33 beneficiaries (2024 beneficiaries). These grants amwnted to £27,202 (2024 = £26.220) and are included in the Accounts. Financial review It is the policy of the Chaiity that unrestsided furKls which have not been desKy￿ed ft)r a speufic use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three wxl six month's expenditure. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able lo continue Ihe Charitys current activib.es while consideration is given to ways in ￿lch aL*Jittonal funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. structure, governance and management The charity is an unincorporated Registered Charity. Designated funds comprise wwestricted fuThJs that have been set aside by the trustees for particular purposes. The aim and use of each designated fund is set out in the notes to the financial statements Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance with SFeafic restiiclions imposed by donors or which have been raised by the charity for particular pw)oses. The cost of raising and administering such funds are charged against the speufic fund.
