Section D Achievements and performance

CARLTON BRASS Summary of the main Gave a number of public performances as a full band, as small ensemble achievements of the charity and in combination with band B, as a means of raising funds and during the year education of the public in the appreciation of music. The members have been encouraged to enhance their performance by competition and have retained the position as a First Section Band. Throughout the year the band has worked in cooperation with other charities to promote their joint interest to the benefit of all parties. Some of the more notable performances in 2023 included playing in Southwell Minster on the day of the Coronation of King Charles III, providing music for a Chernobyl Orphanage Charity fund raising event, and providing background music at a Dementia Café in Arnold. In total the band made 20 public performances during the year and were featured on Radio Nottingham when we performed in a joint summer and Christmas Concert with the Childrens choir of All Hallows Primary School in Gedling. BURTON JOYCE COMMUNITY BRASS Performed at 20 Public events, some of which were in conjunction with other charities, to raise funds for both. BJCB provided small ensembles FOC for interactive school assemblies at 2 local primary schools with the objective of attracting new younger members for the future and educating children in the appreciation of music. BJCB has continued to find several new members of all ages and abilities, who have been provided with both an instrument and tuition at minimal membership fee. During the year 2 self-promoted concerts were arranged to invite non-playing family members to attend. This gave the opportunity for some developing soloist to be featured that otherwise would not be featured in public concerts thereby enhancing their confidence and musical ability.

Auditors Report/ Independent Examiners Report for the Carlton Band organisation

I can confirm that the consolidated accounts presented for 2023 represent a true and fair representation of t charities financial affairs. Both bands within the organisation made a surplus and finacial reserves at the end represent over 3 years normal expenditure. Equipment however requires constant repair and replacement a therefore significant capital expenditure is predicted for the coming years which will normalise the level of fi reserves within the organisation
