ABERGELE HOSPITAL LEAGUE OF FRIENDS Re8lstered Charity No. 504227 Independent Examiners Report to the Trutees I report on the accounts of Abergele H05Pltal League of Friends for the year ended 31 December 2023 which comprise the statement of f inancial activities and Balance sheet and the related note5. Repective resposlbilitles of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustee consider thst an audit is not required for this year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Actland that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. examine the accounts to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commlssion (under Section 14515llbl of the2011 Act, and to State whether particular matters have some to my attention. Basls of indepepndent examiner's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissiona. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of accounts presented with theose records. It also includes consideration of any unusual itemsor disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting a nd Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014 and with the Charities Act 2011. No changes to accounting estimates have occurred in the reporting period (3.46 FRS 102 SORPI. No materials prior year error have been identified in the reporting period (3.47 FRS 102 SORPI. 2 Accountlng Policies Recognition of Incoming resource These are included in the Statement of Fina ncial Activities (SOFA) when: * the charity becomes entitled to the resources. it is more likely than not the trustees will receive the resources,. and * the monetary value can be measured with suff icient reliability. Grants and donations Grants and donations are only included in the SOFA when the general income recognition criteria are met {5.10 to 5.12 FR5102 SORPI. Volunteer help The value of any voluntary help received is not included in the accounts but is described in the trustees, annual report. Liabllity recognition Liabilities are recognised where it is more likely than not that there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to pay out resources and the amount of the obligation can be measured with reasonable certainty. Governance Costs Include costs of the preparation and examination of statutory accounts, the costs of trustee meetings and cost of any legal advice to trustees on governance or constitutional matters.

She thanked the League for all of the equipment our fund-raising efforts have supplied to the Hospital and for our continued work. ies: Apologies were received from Mr Kumar (President), David Jones MP, Gill Gascoigne (Hon Secretary) Cyndy Hurley, Sheila Jones, Ann Watterson Minutes of AGM 202 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and it was agreed that they were a true record of that meeting. Jan Cawley (Vice Chair)thanked Mary on behalf of the League for her continued work this year. Treasurers Re Hon Treasurer Daphne Chappell delivered her report, stating that this year 2023 had been the first full year of operation since the closure for Covid (The Tea Bar re-opened in September 2022.) Financial statementslAccounts have been prepared by Harold Smith (Chartered Accountants) Approximate profit for year ending 31.12.23 = £34184 Gifts to Abergele Hospital this year £31759 Gifts approved (still awaiting payment £ 12040 It was proposed that the Treasurers Report should be accepted. (Proposed by Shirley Marney, seconded by Linda Lewis) and the report was duly accepted.
oin ment f Auditors It was agreed to retain the services of Harold Smith (Chartered Accountants for the coming year.) Elec ion of Officer Mary Lynam agreed to continue as Chair and was duly elected. Jan Cawley announced her coming retirement from the role of Vice Chair and therefore the role will become vacant in the coming months Gill Gascoigne will continue as Hon Secretary Daphne Chappell will continue as Hon Treasurer. All current officers were duly elected. lose of Meetin Kirsty Thompson(Head of Charitable Support BCUHB) closed the meeting. In doing so she thanked the Committee and volunteers of the League for their consistent fund-raising and support for the hospital. Thanks were given to the Charitable Support Team and to Amy Harding who now works to support us. Kirsty commented that work was underway to improve invoice systems for us. She also introduced Jalibani Ndbele who for two weeks has been in the post of Director Of Operations for Acute Medicine BCUHB. She concluded by saying that all the volunteers were 'amazing heroes, and asked if we could produce photographs of all the volunteers involved in order to publicise our work within the wider hospital. The Committee and volunteers of Abergele Hospital League of Friends assured all attendees that we were happy to go ahead with Kirsty's request. Meeting closed 7.30 pm
