Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

The objective of the Scout Committee is to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the Scout Group Headquarters and assist the Scout units in the raising of funds for the maintenance of the Group Headquarters and for the running of activities.

The main function of the Committee is to coordinate fundraising activities to support the upkeep and maintenance of the Group Headquarters in order that Scouting and Guiding has a base from which to operate within the Bedale area.

The Scout and Guide Groups operate in line with their respective umbrella organisations.

Our prime focus is to raise sufficient funds to re-develop the existing storage building which is beyond repair and add climbing wall.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Scouting and Guiding has existed in Bedale since 1919 and the group has operated from its current site at the Riverside, Emgate in Bedale since 22[nd] July 1974 in a wooden fabricated building. This building was pivotal for scouting and guiding in Bedale, as for the first time it brought the two organisations together under one roof.

Activities revolve around fundraising, our main event being the Bedale Festival, which we organise on an annual basis, and seeking donations and grants.

We are extremely grateful to those who support the committee through their time and or expertise. However, our greatest thanks go to those leaders and volunteers who willingly give their time to enable Scouts and Guiding to continue to flourish in the Bedale area.

We hold £30,191.40 in Skipton account which is designated for a new store building. The Co-op Account got in total £33,457.41 which includes Beaver funds £1,026.26, Cubs funds £895.87, 1[st] Leeming funds £604.19 and also our reserve of £25,000

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/07/23

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
