Volunteers give their time freely to support fundraising and general maintenance support. - the charity’s organisational structure and any wider network with which the charity works; - relationship with any related parties; - trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them. ## **Section C Objectives and activities** **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** The objective of the Scout Committee is to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the Scout Group Headquarters and assist the Scout units in the raising of funds for the maintenance of the Group Headquarters and for the running of activities. **TAR** March **2012** 2 The main function of the Committee is to coordinate fundraising activities to support the upkeep and maintenance of the Group Headquarters in order that Scouting and Guiding has a base from which to operate within the Bedale area. The Scout and Guide Groups operate in line with their respective umbrella organisations. Our prime focus is to raise sufficient funds to re-develop the existing storage building which is beyond repair and add climbing wall. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** Scouting and Guiding has existed in Bedale since 1919 and the group has operated from its current site at the Riverside, Emgate in Bedale since 22[nd] July 1974 in a wooden fabricated building. This building was pivotal for scouting and guiding in Bedale, as for the first time it brought the two organisations together under one roof. Activities revolve around fundraising, our main event being the Bedale Festival, which we organise on an annual basis, and seeking donations and grants. ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** We are extremely grateful to those who support the committee through their time and or expertise. However, our greatest thanks go to those leaders and volunteers who willingly give their time to enable Scouts and Guiding to continue to flourish in the Bedale area.
