charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The village hall is in great need of renovation
and modernisation, the Trustees and the
Committee members all agreed that we
would look for grant funding to carry out the
improvements that were needed. It was
decided to employ Tir a Bro consultants to
make grant applications on our behalf.
We also decided to appoint Spencer Pughe
Associates to conduct a structural survey,
draw up plans and apply for planning
permission.
The proposed works are for replacing rotten
timbers, new doors and windows, re-roofing
and insulating the main building, kitchen and
store room. New corrugated metal exterior
wall cladding, insulation, and replastering of
interior walls and ceilings, new toilets and
kitchen units. New heating system.
The total cost was approximately £243,000
Grant funding of £7,085.59 from Cyngor
Gwynedd towards the costs of Spencer
Pughe and a National Lottery Community
grant for £19,060.00 were received, the
latter for the construction cost of a New
disabled access and outside ramp. New
able-bodied and disabled toilets.
Tenders were sent out and the successful
tender was E T Pugh Builders Ltd.
An application for funding from the Welsh
Government Community Facilities program
was successful, we were awarded a grant of

£178,818.00. We will receive the funding in two stages as the construction progresses, with a starting date set for the third week in June 2025. It is also proposed to apply for further grants that are due to become available in the next financial year. Fund raising events have been held towards the improvements fund ie. Pizza night, Bingo, Quizzes etc.
