Chair’s Report
Ms Johnson warmly welcomed the Trustees to the Annual General Meeting and confirmed that since the last AGM, the Village Hall had complied with Government Covid 19 restrictions and closed its doors to the public on 18[th] March 2020 and all activities ceased. During this time the Monday Club, all of whom are volunteers, utilised the closure to carry out and complete a number of repairs and maintenance.
Government restrictions have now been lifted and the Village Hall is fully open for use by both regular groups, some new groups and casual bookings from the local community. Ms Johnson reported that it hasn’t been easy for regular groups to ‘get back to full strength’ and anticipates this might still take some time.
In October 2021 the two remaining windows in the Hall were replaced with new timber framed, double glazed windows. This means that all the windows have now been replaced, each has a roller blind as a sun screen and as a result the Hall is much brighter and less draughty.
The Flower Club made a cash donation to the Village Hall in 2021 and this was used to purchase daffodil bulbs which were planted mainly along the front bank. In the Spring, they flowered and made the Village Hall grounds look bright, cheerful and were a very welcome sight!
In January the old heating boiler for the main Hall was replaced with a new one which should be more efficient and cost effective. The flooring in the Old Meeting room has been rebuilt and carpet re-laid following the work to dry out the water damage to the floorboards.
Work has been carried out on the Gable end wall of the toilet block. New double glazed windows have been fitted and a new panel wall built and painted. The
Noticeboard on the front bank has been taken down, completely renovated and put back up again. Ms Johnson registered thanks to Mr Paul Liggins for his thought and hard work with this project which was undertaken over several weeks
Finally, Ms Johnson expressed her thanks to Mrs Elaine Lenton and Mr Tim Lenton for dealing with bookings for the Village Hall, to Miss Anne-Marie McFeely for her vital work as Secretary and to the Monday Club for their enthusiastic mending and repair of the Village Hall.

Treasurer’s Report
Mr Lenton circulated copies of the 2021 accounts to those present and confirmed that they had been fully audited. The accounts show the usual running costs in addition to previously reported expenditure on the replacement windows, purchase of blinds and repairs to the toilet block. Taking all of this into account the year-end balance is £31, 397.52 which is due largely to receipt of £22,501.14 Government funding during the Covid Pandemic. Mr Lenton reiterated that compliance with the Government restrictions during the pandemic had caused full closure of the hall resulting in the very low level of income recorded.
Following on from the pandemic a number of users have opted to pay their account by Direct Debit rather than cash payments. The impact of this is debts on the accounts are showing at a higher level than previous years, due to transaction handling time, however Mr Lenton assured Trustees that payments were being received and there was no cause for concern.
