We have conducted a busy programme of vlIbeing events, mainly hekl at the Club premises. Yet again the Branch has raised an impressive amount for t Wings Appeal of over £21.000. We also attended several ceremonial events, induding several November Remembran s8rvices as well as services in commemoration of VE day and VJ day. At the RAFA Annual Conference our Branch Weffare Officer, Ron Ford, was reward8d for his dedication and unfaltering commrtment to serving beneficialS and engagirKJ ryth Branch members with the award of the prestuious Presidentsal Certrfi¢*e, vthith was by Air Marshal Sir Baz North, President of RAF We continue to be well supported by the Yorf(shire Universtlies Air Squadron, based at RAF Leeming, and by our 2 local Air Cadet Squadrons, No 110 (Cty of York) Squadron and 2487 (Easirbwdd) Squadnjn. During 2025. wé replad our wom out stsirlift at the Club wrth a nèw one (at a cost of over £5000) and invested in a set of planning drawngs to enab18 US to progress our ambrtion to make bett8r use of our ground floor area at the Club. Our plans to create a replarne Ebsite thring 2025 thtre overtaken by events as, dIng 2026, RAFA HQ blill be rolling out a new generic website platfom for uge by all branctS and branch dubs at no ¢ost to us. Overall, expt for the new ¥%ebsrte {which will roll8d out by RAFA HQ) and the lack of Branch members Vorylling to understudy Branch Committee duties, we have achieved our objethves for 2025. The lack of volunteers willing to take on Committee duties remains a serious issue. for which there is no eas Treasurer's Report The AGM Finanoal Report includes both the Branch General and Welfare accounts at the bank, the equivalent deposit accounts at RAFA and any other assets. Our Branch contFnues to be a 'Going conrn,. Our largest and unexpected purchase this year vras the new stairlift but, wrth pemission, v were able to use a grant from our own Welfare Fund to purchase and install rt. Our total Brah Fund of £56,439 is very similar to the startFng figure with a ProfrtlLoss Account balance of £365. We made our usual donation of £1,0(Kl to Rothtry House and will budget to continue doing so in the future. We made a onevoff grant of £30010 the Contart House at RAF Leeming. The Branch Wetfare funds total £2,465. We will request that a wrtion of our Wings Rebate is retumed to us this year for SFendirvJ as the Branch sees frt. Maintaining about £5,000 for Branch welfare spendirwJ seems wudent. We have been fortunate to have received some significant donations in 2025, not least £4,000 from lan Smrth's Estate arKI £3,CK)O owed to us following the sale of the ad"oinin leased that our stable

I have arranged, on behalf of the Chainnan and dub m8mbers, for 'Get Well, cards, flcN•Ers. chocolates and ma3azines etc, to be delivered to those members Wt were ill. suffered a¢¢Klents or Ere recoveriNJ from hospital operations. In December I visrted the RAFA run Rothbury House, in Northumberfand to present the Branch donation of £10(Kl. This is a regular donation and is used by Rothbury House to enhan their faciliti'es for the benefrt of their residents in Tthatever way they think most approwate. Our donations have been recognised on a brass plaque in the dining room. I have successfully resolved 8 local vllare cases in support of Branth members, and I have conducted numerous visrts to memters at h(yne, in h08Prtal or in cartrhomes to provide comfort and support followiro their admittance and during their convalescence. Very sadly 10 Branch members have died over the course of the year. induding our Wings Appeal Officer lan Smith, and where required, and with the noble assistance of our Starthrd Bearer, Gordon Murden, havè provided RAFA York Branch presence at funèral, cremation and memorial serrfices. Isolation and loneliness conb'nue to be an issue arKI with the assistance of the branch Chainnan and Secretary we h¥4e made numerous telephone calls to members to offer rnal support dunng thwr time of need. There has been an overall reduth'on in Branch membership and this has resutted in a slight decrease in welfare actmty, rerthelesS our Yk remains extremely important and rt 18 Vital that our members are able to call upon us in times of need Fundraising Report (please iiiseit details of tlie BiaiiGI? Fundraising activities i.e. Wings Appeal events) The Branth Wings Appeal effort was able to call on a core team of collectors o onr£ again excelled in colthting £21,887.27 over the course of the year. Wiros Collections were carried out at a number of stores Ihroughout the cty namely. collections at Tesco's, Momson's, Monks Cross shopping ontre and the VarwJarde centre. There *pre three colbedions in the Cty Centre coinciding wtth the annNer3ary of the foundation of the RAF, Anned fOrS Day and on the Anniversa of Battb of Brrtain. There were two collections at York

Over the course of the year our average membership stands at 385. which reflects a steady decline over the years Eyhty of our number are lrfetime members, ¥thilst 40 of our m8mbers are over 85 years of age. Few of th8se are regular visitors to the dub. A large proportion (340h) are GAYE members. most of whom live away from York and cannot attend. Membership Secretary has written to, or emailed ewhteen members aged between s5, believing that demographic would be most likely lo have the time and inclination to actively partipate in dub aCtiVrt8, and encouraged them to Vtsit the Club in order to experience the facilities and friendly and lcOMIng thospher8. He has also contacted all joiners who are local to York to encourage them to attend when able. Unfortunately. thè uptake has been very disappointing. Very few responded and that did attend have not contsnued to visrt. Communication with our mémbership has been adversety affected by the closure of our Websrte in late January due to increasing costs arKI a poor user irrterface that VRS time consuming and difficull to populate. We are hopeful thal the generic RAFA ebsrte ill rolled out in the near fuiure. We continue to produ¢e a quarterly newsletter, the 'AldWa ChronicE8' and our Annual Reports, vthich we distribute via email and by post to those without an email addre&8. By these means are able to advertise and report on activities and events we are involved in. Urgent communications are sent by email or telephon8. We also use the YO Press ar¥J York Mix social media pages to wb11ze Signfficant events and to post letters of thanks to the public at large, for their generosty in donatsng during ow street lIeon$. This correspondence provides an opportunty to adverts'se the existen of the Branch and Branch Cb in the hope of attrading new memtrws.
OROYAL AIRFORCES Association Summary ofthe main achievements of the branch during the year {Gont) Wellbeing I Social Report (please insert details of the Brai?ch Wellbeing and Social events/aGtivilies) The Branch and Branch Club run a busy pri)aramme of WEllbeing and SOGial activities. The Club is open every Wednesday and Saturday at lurthime providiw a varni, friendly and lively meeting pla kn our members. (knsionally, every 4 to 6 weeks, food is available at the Club at very modest cost. The Club ha5 also been the venue for regular film shows, presentations, occasional qui7zes, a comedy plus event and games of bingo. Additionally, the ladies organise a monthly ladtes lunth at a local hostelry, usually held on Friday. On St George's day a roast dinner was organised by a Branch member, and hosted in the Club. On 3 May. a celebration was held at the Club to commemorate VE Day and on 15 Aug a similar party was held to commemorate VJ Day. The Club organised a Chnstmas lunch at a local hote on 3 Dec and a Christmas draw on 20 Dec. Commemoration Report (please insert details oftl?e BraiiGh Commemoration eVentaCtivItieS (Remembrance. Standard Bearers Altendance at Funerals etc.) The 8ranGh was involved In the followng commemoration actiwties.. Attendance at three Tuming of the Page Ceremonies in York Minster. The first (Kcurred on 1 Apr, to coincide with the foundation of the RAF. the second was on 13 Jun, olebratiro Arrrhryd Forces Day. The third was on 31 DeG, to mark the e1 of the year. A Service of Rememtxance at the Dunnington Lodge Fann memorial to coMmemale the 80 Anniversary of Operation Gisela was held at York Maze on 2 Mar. Annual involvement in the Escape Lines Memorial So• service at Eden Camp on 26 Apr. Attendance on the 27 Apr, at a Ser4ice of Dedication marking the erection of a memorial to a 425 Sqn Lancaster lost dwiTrJ the second World War at RAF Trtolthorpe. VE Day Ai# of Remembrance 8 May. Annual involvement in RCAF Eastmoor Memorial service at Sutton-on4he- Forest on 10 May. Attendance at the annual RAFWRBURSA Church Service at the Church of All Saints Pavement in York. 29 Jun. VJ Day Memonal Ceremony on 15 Aug. VJ Day Memorial Service hèld at Al Saints Pavement on 17 Aug. Annual involvement in All S8ThiC8s Parade and servi at Eden Camp on 7 Sep. Rememtrance event at th8 South African Klem1. Yolk on 1 Nov. Annual involvement in York Festival of Remembrance on 9 Nov. The York Branch of the Parachute Regiment Associknon also use our building as a base for their street collections. Students of the Yorkshire Universty Air Squadron, based at RAF LeemiTVJ regularly assist us during Wings Appeal CollectnS and also attend the Turning of the Page Ceremonies at the Minster. The Cadets of 110 (Crty of York) Squadron also asstst on these ¢x¢asions. Members of the RAFA Yort( Branth are present at the Awards Ceremonies held by 110 Sqn vthere present RAFA Trophies. We also interact M*ith the Sutton-on-th Forrest Parish Counol during the planning of the RCAF Eastrnoor Memorial Service. We have also connected with the Ryedabe Branch of RAFA Io strengthen our tss and we now exchange our programm8s of acttvrties and our newsletters. On the 28 Sep the Branch Club was opened to the public as a part of the York Unlocked Prwa. cNer 100 members of the public visited the Club. The Branch members involved in hosting the visits receiv8d very posrtive feedback from our gu88ts who were captwated by the idiosyncratic décor of our Club.

Financial Review Statement on Branch Expenditure (How has branch expenditure supported the key objprti . es of Ihp brr?nc.hl Primary Branch expendtture has been on the Branch building rates, insurance, utilities, maintenance and repair. This allows the Branch to rent the Spa to York RAFA Club, a key provider of comradeship. It also allows the Branch to host civic dignitaries, and other Branch supporters after fomial Branch activities in the City and surrounding area; this raises the profile of the Branch and RAFA, highlighting the welfare support and comradeship provided. Other expenditure indudes the woduction and distribution of the Branch NewEletter and delegate expanses for RAFA conferences. Statement on Branch's Reserve Policy (Branch Regulalions stipulate Ihal any Branch with total assets amounting to more than £5, 000 should have a r&sarves policy and any BranGh with assets over £10, 000 should consider transfemng excess funds across to the Branch Deposit Fund held at 4ssociation HQ. A template res8Nes oolicy can be found on the Branch Portal) The Branch holds a restricted fund (the Weffare Account) which at 31 st D8cember 2025 held £2,465. This money is entirely eamiarked for Welfare purposes. including v11-b1ng, for the benefit of qualifying members of the RAF Family. The history of demarKls on the fund have been modest over recent years and £10,000 was transferred to CHQ in 2024. Furthemiore, the Branch will review annually whether to request any Wngs Rebate and whethw to transfer any fvrKls to CHQ. The balance held on unrestricted fuThds {the General Account) at 31st December 2025 vra8 £47,189. The major income to these funds is from the Branch Club rent. The income meets the runnirvJ costs of the property, which also provides a meeting arKI administrative venue. and a social hub in support of FIAFA objectiv88.
