TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30TH JUNE 2021

Trustees Keith Ward President Nicholas Morse Secretary Peter Smith Treasurer

Mrs Susan Maguire was a trustee in the previous year but resigned on 1st July 2020 on stepping down as President of the Rotary Club

Basis of Report and Accounts

The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report together with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30th June 2021, which have been prepared adopting the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued in 2019.

Principal Activities

The fund was established by a trust deed dated 4th June 1970

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular to encourage and foster:

First the development of acquaintance as an opportuntiy for service
Second high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the
worthiness of all useful occupations and the dignifying by each Rotarian
of his occupation as an opportunity to serve society
Third the application of the ideals of service by every Rotarian to his personal,
business and community life
Fourth the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace
through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in
the ideal of service

In achieving these objects the members carry out fund-raising and service projects in order to provide assistance to local, national and international causes

As a registered charity the fund is not liable to taxation

Risk Management

The trustees have reviewed the risks facing the charity, which has involved identifying the type of risk and the means of mitigating those risks. Internal controls and systems have been established accordingly

Reserves Policy

The trustees consider the level of reserves required should be sufficient to ensure the charity is able to maintain the historic level of ongoing service for the foreseeable future . Significant surpluses should be reviewd by the trustees in conjunction with the council of the Rotary Club and may be distributed ad hoc.
