The Fisher Memorial Trust was set up to promote interest in the life and work of the great statistician, evolutionary biologist and geneticist, Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher (1890-1962) and to maintain his scientific legacy by encouraging discussion of the scientific fields in which he was active.

Objects: Arranging For The Public Reading Of A Paper Or Giving Of A Lecture On Any Subject Or Field Of Science Or Learning Associated With The Name Of The Late Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher Namely The Application Of Mathematics To Biology Such Reading Or Lecture To Be Known As The Fisher Memorial Lecture And To Be Given Annually Or At Such Intervals As The Committee Shall Decide In The United Kingdom Or In Any Other Place Or Country As The Committee Shall Decide. The Residue Of The Said Income Remaining Shall Be Applied To Further Knowledge And Research In Any Of The Said Fields Of Science And Learning As The Committee May From Time To Time Think Proper.
