Tru$tegs' roport 31 August 2021 The trustees of Charities Administered ICW Langley PaTk School for Boys I'lhe Charity'l present their annual report together wth the financial statements and the independent examiner's report of the Charity for the year lo 31 August 2021. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out on page 8 of the attached financial statements and are presented on a reIpts and payments basis. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Constitution The charity is constiluled by a Trust Deed dated 8 March 1989 to advance the education of the pupils of Langley Park School for Boys by providing or assisting in the provision of educational. recreational and other charitable facilities not nomially provided by the Education Skills Funding Agency. The charity was registerad with the Charity Commission on 4 December 1962 (Chartty Number 3078021. The Iruslees are responsible for tsking all strategic and investment decisions and for monitoring the implementstion thereof. In sethng the charity's obje¢tNes, the trustee5 have gNen careful consideration to the Chartty Commission's general guidance on public benefit. The Beckenham Secondary School Old Boy's War Memori81 Fund • The John Pear Memorial Fund In the year. the charity made no cash transfers {2020'. £nill to the Langley Park School for Boys lo support the pupils in extra¢urri¢ular activities, prize giving and towards running the minibuses which are used for taking the pupils to sports fixtures. trips etc. The aclivi(ies which the charity fundraising supports were significantly impacted bythe coronavirus pandemic Mth many adivities postponed or cancelled. The charity is making plans for future expenditure once the School's extracurricular activity can continue. The reserves and memorial funds are shown in the attached financial ststements. The attached Statement of assets and liabilities shows the current stste of the finances which the trustees consider to be sound. Balances of £141,897 12020= £72,875) have been accumulated at 31 August 2021. This comprises £139.02212020.- £70,474) of bank b818nces. the movement on which are shown within the receipts and payments account on page 6. and £2.87512020= £2.4011 held in COIF investments. Trustees, Responsibilltles The law applicable lo charities in England and Wales required the trustees to preparefinancial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of reSoUS of the charity for that period. In preparing thosg financial ststements. the trustees are required to- select suitsble accounting policies and then apply them consistenlly., make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., • prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless il is inappmpr*ale to presume that the charity will continue to operate. The trLtstees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disdose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and lo enable them lo ensure that the financial slalements Comply with the Ch2rities Act 2011, the Charity IA¢¢ounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions ofthe Trust Deed. They're also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the char5ty and hence for taking reasonable steps for th8 prevention and detection of frdud and other irregularities. Notes to the Financlal Statements Year to 31 August 2021 The principal accounting policies adopted, judgements and key sources of estFmation uncertainty in the preparation of the accounts are laid out below. Basis of preparatlon These accounts have been prepared for the year to 31 August 2021 with comparative information given in respect to the year to 31 August 2020. The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policles below or tha notes to these accounts. The charity constitutes a public benefft entity as defined by FRS 102. The accounts are psented in steding and are rounded to the nearest pound. Basis of accountlng The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Value Added Taxation VAT on expendittjre incurred by the chartty is irrecoverable.
