Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Clingan's Trust has been established since 1736. It is at present governed by the charitable scheme sealed on the 15th March 1996. In its financial year ended December 2023, grants in excess of £95,000 were made to individuals, schools and organisations. This was an increase on the previous year of £29.000. The trustees endeavour to support young people locally in helping them to realise their educational ambitions and potential, and to assist them in their career choices. In that respect, grants have been made for a variety of educational purposes including the provision of books, computers, educational material. organised school trips, university and college expenses and help with apprenticeships. The Trust has a long-standing reputation within the trust area for helping young people in education and especially those from poorer backgrounds. It has a reputation for enhancing the lives and prospects of young people. TAR March 2012
Section E Financial review The Charity has large capital reserves. The trustees seek to use all available income whenever possible. Brief ststement of the charity's policy on reserves The trustees have regard to maintaining proper reserves of income for future needs. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5>{b) of the Act.
