Item 6 – Beaver Scout Section Report

It’s been a brilliant year for our Beavers – packed with fun, learning and adventure. We’ve been to Thriftwood twice – once for a fun day out and once on District Badge Day. We’ve explored Thames Chase, met some amazing creatures with Exotic Explorers, made plenty of music, and of course enjoyed fire lighting, games, crafts, slime making and so much more.

Other highlights included the Essex Therapy Dogs, our Mario-themed sleepover, the ice cream van (and the water fight that followed!), the St George’s Day Parade, the Great Beaver Bake Off, a meaningful Dementia Talk, trying out Yoga and even Kung Fu. We also had a visit from the police, and a fruit kebab station, which the Beavers absolutely loved.

All of this is only possible thanks to our fantastic volunteers. A big thank you to Lynn and Lisa, and to John, who leads all of our Scouting activities throughout the year. From fire lighting to archery, you’ve helped the Beavers grow in confidence and skills every step of the way. We’re also lucky to have our brilliant young leaders – Jacob, Ewan, Neave and Khadija. The Beavers really look up to you, and we’re so grateful for all the time, energy and fun that you bring.

And finally, well done to the Beavers themselves – you’ve tried new things, made new friends and shown the true spirit of Scouting. So, thank you to everybody – parents, Beavers, leaders and young leaders alike – for all your help and support in making this year so special. We are truly second to none!

Item 9 – Group Lead Volunteers Report and Item 10 – Arnaud Lodge Maintenance Report

It’s been a good year. We’ve been consolidating our position. Various works undertaken such as new radiators, outside improvements and getting used to a new Pre-school operation. Works planned for the coming year include sorting out the new kitchen and general maintenance. We as the Joint Group Lead Volunteers would like to thank the Section Team Leaders – Shane, Posy and Charlie as well as all the Team members and Parent Helpers. Without those people volunteering their time the Group wouldn’t be able to function and your young people wouldn’t have the fulfilling experience they all enjoy. Can we show our appreciation in the normal way ( Applause ). We’d like to thank all parents and care givers for bringing your young people to us and supporting them with us. Thank you.
