Organisation & Rules" ofTh8 Scout Association. Trustees and newlyappointed Trustees are required to do appropriate Trustee training in line with The Scout Association training offering. Remuneratlon of Trustee8 AIITrustees act in s voluntary capacity and receive no remuneration orother material benefits fromtheirservicestothe Charity. Out-of-pocket expenses necessarlly and reasonably Incurred byTrustees in promotingthe purpose8 ofthe Charityare relmbursed at cost. Investment Pollcy Due to the relatively low level of f unds. the District's policy is to hold funds in bank accounts with FSCS protectlon at bal8nces less than £85,000. It is District Policy to avoid using this capital for day-to-dBy purposes, instead reserving It for key projects such as the development of District owned and leased property. Funds will not be deposited into orwithdrawn from anyaccountwithoutthe approval ofthe DistrictTrustee Board. Flnanclal Aevlew The surplus forthisfinanci81year amounted to £40,538.96 (deficit 2023124 £48,401.41). Depreclatlon amounted to £7,207.84 but Is a bookentrytowrlte off flxed assets OV8rthelr estimated useful life and doe8 not affect cash. Mayplace Road West HQ and 5th Erith h8lls created income of £39,987.20, to coverthe propetyexpenses of £14,090.16 Includlngthose propertles, wh5ch do not contrlbute Income, givinga surplus of £25,897.04. Rlsk Management TheTwstees have 8 duty to identify8nd reviewthe risks towhich the charity is expose¢J and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against f raud and error. TheTrustees have identified and constantly reviewthe majorrisks towhich they believe the Dlstrlct Is expos8d. TheTrustees have followed POR and, with reference to publications prepared by Scouts (rhe ScoutAs8OCl8tionl, have established systems to mitigate allthe identified ri8ks. These principally relate to the training and assessment of all volunteers and the regular appraisal of all the District's activities.
