Welcome to 2 Deal Scout Group Annual General Meeting. I still have the luxury of representing an absolutely brilliant group of people at 2. Deal Sea Scouts and for the final tirne as Chair of the Executive Committee I would like to congratulate all of our Leaders. Assistsnts. Occasional Helpers, young people and parents and everyone who has supported us in this last year in makrng this a fabulous group to represent. Its okay l arn not going anywhere, unless l am not re*lected but the Scout Movement have deemed it necessary to stsrt changing some things. This is starting with titles so we will no longer have an Executive Committee, we will now have a Trustee Board. In trying to decipher the number of changes held within the Scouts Policy. Organisation and Rules is not easy when you have the time pressures of everyday life. so as a 8TQUP we will process these changes as soon as we are able to so that it does not cause any upset to our wonderful volunteers. I know Chris will want to lèt you know what a brilliant year the Group and Sections have had but I V￿uld like to mention our Annual Summer Camp for the Scouts and Explorer Sections. This was held at our 2 home in Golden Green near Tonbridge. The young people were brilliant and really enjoyed it but I must mention the team of Leaders that took their time in planning and delivering the camp. We all have day jobs and busy INes but the amount of time and efft)rt that goes in to planning and delivering the camp is Staggering. I have been going to camp for a number of years and this year I found myself looking out on to the field and realising that some of the Leaders were Scouts when I started helping out. They have then moved on to Explorers and are now Leaders themselvesl If that didn't age me enough then realising that they have started their own families and bringing them along to enjoy the benefits of camp showed me that all of our efforts have not been wasted. We love Scouting for a variety of reason5 and it provides us with life long experiences and life long memories. As a group we need helpl We need to keep that rolling support coming through for our Section Leaders. We have young adults who when starting families havè their own pressures and we have some older people who also need help in running their sections. If we do not get help and support then we do not have Sections and youn8 people will miss out so please help and support the group in whatever capacity you are able to. Thank you all for your support and help throughout this year and I look for¥vard to your help in the future. Regards Steve Noddings Chair of the Group Executive Committee. Page 2

The Group has maintained and added to its fleet of various boats and there have been some problems with the winch, The repair that has been carried out seems to be working but investigations are still ongoing into a safe replacement, not as easy as it sounds. The youngsters have attended a number of events and represented the Group at these.

SECTION REPORTS for the YEAR

BEAVERS

CUB REPORT

We have had a very varied year with our activities this year. We had our Cub bake Off and a sleep over at the hut. All very successful. We have completed many badges this year very wide ranging from Athletes to Nautical. Perhaps our stand out moment came With our Panto ‘Oliver with a twist !’ The Mayor also called Oliver along with the Mayoress attended along with our parents and a star turn by Rupert. Then of course there were the very talented musicians, all the Cubs were brilliant. We have attended Remembrance Day Service and St Georges Day we also celebrated the Chinese New Year. This year we have sent quite a few Cubs up to Scouts and have had a handful of Beavers, we will be taking in from outside as there is a wait until the next Beavers come Up. My grateful thanks go to Diane and Tracey also to Dave, Matt and Karolyn who help when they can, If you can help at all with any of our activities in any way please Come and speak to us, every little help is gratefully received.
