Reserves Reserves
It is the policy ofthe charity to maintain
sufficient unrestricted
funds
to cover the day to day running
costs ofthe charity and to respond
to specific expenditure
requirements
as considered
necessary.
The
trustees consider that the minimum
level ofreserves
should
be
F30,000to cover a 3-month
period, and this threshold
is stress-
tested over the financial year.
Risk Management
The Trustees are aware ofthe major strategic, business,
and
operational
risks which the Trust faces. They confirm that systems
have been established
to enable regular reports to be produced, so
that necessary steps can be taken to mitigate these risks.
Future Developments
~ The Trust has prioritised
several improvements
over the next few
years supported
by fund-raising
and grants,
particularly
in energy-
saving measures
to reduce future
running
costs across the estate
and achieving
sustainability
and net zero targets.
~ The Trust's
main
hall is over 50years old, with the newer
extensions
now over 20 years old. The fabric and fittings
will need
to be replaced
in the next few years, which require
capital
expenditure
on the building
infrastructure,
as well as fittings and
furniture.
~ In the next financial
year, the Trust is working
with sports bodies to
improve the condition ofthe playing
fields and to create a new
sports storage facility.
The field mower which
is virtually
derelict,
will also be replaced
using the grants Trustees successfully
raised.

Summary ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year
The Trust is an integral
part ofvillage
life, offering facilities and activities
that cover a wide range of interests
for residents, as well as providing
a
quality setting for life milestones,
such as children's
parties, weddings,
wakes, church services and clubs. The Trust takes into account
comments
and suggestions
from residents
and also works closely with
the Parish Council to fulfil longer term delivery
priorities,
although
the
Trust and Parish Council are separate
legal entities
with separate
and
independent
boards.
The Trust is fully financially
self-supporting
and
receives no regular financial
support
from the Parish Council, other than
a modest grant for grounds-keeping
and payment ofthe playground's
maintenance.
The Trust takes
it charitable
status very seriously and supports
a number
of public interest charities
including
providing
storage for the British
Legion, facilities for NHS blood banks and clinics and rooms for charity
fund-raising
events.
The Trust reviews
all charitable
requests
for support
fairly without
distinction
ofsex, race or of political, religious
and other
opinions.
All applications
are welcome
and reviewed
by the Trust board
for decision.
The Trust secured charitable
donations
from the Football Association
who funded
refurbishment
ofthe playing
fields, Howdens
who provided
a
new kitchen
in the sports pavilion,
the Parish Council who donated
funds
towards
pitch maintenance,
OBAS (Offords and Buckden Angling
Society) providing
a stock offish for the Valley and the Tree Council who
provided a grant to plant a native English hedge
in the Valley, continuing
efforts to improve
biodiversity
and enhance
the nature
environment
for
residents.
The Trust works hard to expand
and develop
its customer base, with
several
new training
contracts, a full weekend
ofdance competition,
a
second year ofthe popular
pantomime
and an Exotic Cat Show.
Following
the success ofthe Queen's
Jubilee tea last year, the Trust
again helped to organise a Coronation
tea, inviting
single elderly people
who might be experiencing
loneliness
and isolation.
Over 200 people
attended
both events.
The Trust maintains
high standards
of customer service, averaging
a
rating of4.7 out of5stars on Google reviews.
The Trust also
successfully
renewed
its ACRE Hallmark
1 accreditation
for governance
and management.
