Risk and Risk and Internal Control : The Group Executive Committee
has idenhfied the major risks to
' which. they believe the Group is exposed, these have been reviewed
' and systems have been estalished to ndtigate them. The main areas
ofconcern that have been identified
are:
Injury to leaders, helpers, supporters
and members. The Group
through the capitation fees contributes
toThe Scout Association's
national
accddent insurance policy and, in addBion, the Group
Executive has recently decided totake out additional
insurance
cover for parent helpers
and others who assist the Gmup on an ad-
hoc basis, Risk Assessments
are undertaken
before all activities.
Maintenance
ofasafe envimnment
which proiubits
the spread of
any infectious virus in line with government
guidelines,
while
continuing
tosupport leaders and members physical and mental
wellbeing.
Reduced income from fund raising. The Group is primarily
reliant
upon income from subscriptions
and fundraising
The youp does
hold areserve to ensure the continuity
of activities should there be
amajor reduction in income. The Committee
could raise the value
of subscriptions to increase the income to the gmup
on an ongoing
basis, either temporarily
or permanently.
The Croup has in place systems ofinternal connote that are
designed to pmvide reasonable
assurance
against material
mismanagement
orloss, these include 2signatories for all
payments
and insurance
policies toensure that insurable
risks are
covered.
