The Community Centre is leased from the Patchway Town Councll on the basis of Year lease and a £l.(Kl/annum peppercorn rent It Is our responslbility to maintain the building and keep in a safe and comfortable condition for the people of Patchway and close environs. As the Community Centre is used as a preschool (Bespoke Preschool) on a daily basis procedures are in place to ensure safeguarding of chlldren Fundlng for general runnln8 of the Centre is by room rental to variou5 groups In the communltv. Some funds were avallable from the Town Councll In the form of a maintenance grant thls year for whith we were very grateful as the Insurance premium alone for thi5 buildlng has doubled since the refurbishment project of the last two years We also apply for 8rants from varfous charitsble or8anisatlons. but we never rely on belng succe55ful. Objectlves arbd Acthiltles We alm to provlde the people of Patchway and close environs wlth a Centre that Is flt for purpose to be used from the youngest in our community {2-year-oldl to the oldest In our communlty (Senioi cbtlzens activity groups includin8 a Luft¢heon Club) Our actlvlty planning revolves around maxirnlslng use of all the room spaces wlth groups who can "Ilve togetherf In harniony. Maths classes and Parentlng Courses for l¢xal people and the new immi8rants In our town Most of our evening actlwties are based around the Various martial arts 8roups from Patchway and the surrounding area who frequent the Centre. We have a Senlor Cltizens Luncheon aub once a weeK on Wednesday We have Slimming World class on Thursdays We have do8 training classes on a Tuesday whlch promote responsible do8 ownership in the cornmunity. We have an a55et in the main, large hall of a fvlly sprun8 dance floor whlch Is used for Ballroom Danclng.

We have a Church Meeting on Saturday evenings We have a ￿SIdent Amateur Dramatics 8roup on Sunday afternoon and evenlng. wlth various dates for Pantomime and Play perfom)ances We have two young people's dance classe5 on different evenlngs. All the members of our community regardless of age, sex, race, falth and ability are welcome to use our facllity. which has a very diverse back8round. Addltlonal detalls We have cont5nued to make some s￿1fkaftt Improvements to the "Old Bulldin replacln8 the 196(fs tollets wlth new facllltles and this has made the Community aware that we are strSvin8 to make thls a good place to work and relax in. The renovatlons are goin8 ahead so the building should be 8ood for another 25150 year5 wlth more Improvements to thermal efficiency and the potential to utlllse the vast roof space for PV and solar heating purposes. The malntainin8 of the floors with a modern material means we now only need to employ one cleaner for 10 hours per week a substantial saving over the year. Although thissavin8 has beenwiped outbythecontinued Increase In the Government mlnlmum wa8e. The new budget could cause us 518niflcant Increases due to both Nl contributions and yet another rlse in mlnlmum wage The employlng of a of a Centre managerto ald the volunteer manager has proved to be very successful. The manager has been taken on in a part tlme role although she volunteers for a lot of extra unpaid hours. Her local knowledge has proved invaluable In flllin8 the room space that we now have. The refurblshment left quile a lot to be desired wlth a very poor standard of Project Control and Architectural Over5ite so we have to be constantly making good on some of the 'lmprovementrf. We are endeavourfng to find Money each month to Improve the acoustlc performance of our new hall a5 the echoes are awful, wron8 plasterboard fitted?? Achlevements and Performance: We have retained all of the groups whlch have used thls Centre over the past couple of decades and reassured them that we will stlll be here with an Improved facility in the future. although we have been forced to raise the room hire fees again after

keeping thern deliberate￿ low for the last 7 years, our town has been identified as being in a deprived area. they are stlll wtth us and appreclate the efforts we have made on thelr behalf. We ran a social gathering of Disabled and Amputees on a no income basis whlch proved to be very successful wsth atterxlees comlng from far and wlde. We are lucky In havlng the M4IMS and main railway statlon within S minutes of our centre. We hosted a party for the local Enablement Centre on a no income basis which was fanta5tlc and if anyone thlnks life is hard. they have no idea until they meet some of these Ilmbless infants and children and thelr parents. We also hosted a.not for Income" thIld￿￿5 partyfor the local Scouts, which was very successful. Thls year, February, our Am Dram group ran a Pantomlme for the local population whlch was very well supported. swellln8 their funds whlch they have further relnvested in the Community Centre by modernising the sta8e and lightlng systems. We may be able to employ a handymanlcaretaker for a limlted number of hours per Wee￿ Thls wlll take some of the burden off of the Chalrman who Is currently performlng the day-to4ay malntenance on this bulldlng. So far thls has not happened but the Trustees are st511 lookin8 into this Flnanclal Revlevr. We ftnlshed March 2024 wlth a finishing balance on the current account, of £15693.02 wlth no outstandlng creditors. As we have further reduced our utility bills we can now survtve for a full year if any of our major groups decided to pull out. Staff costs are now limlted to a part tlme Manager and two part tlme cleaners; the main outgoings are the utlllty bllls. Although clever programmlng by the new mana8er has reduced our out goln8s on utlllty costs. Detalls of any fund5 rnaterfalfy In defictt There are no known debts to pay at thi5 time Further Hnancial revlew detsils Our main Sour￿ of fundin8 has been through room rental. We had to increase our room rental charges to reflect the inflation cost and the increased cost because of 5tandlng char8es on our ener8y accounts. Our byal 8roups respected that declslon and still sUPPOrt the centre

We will have to continue to tha5e the approprlate sour￿5 of funds: charitable bodles etc. to ensure we have enough funds to put on more modest events for the community as a whole - No change in policyfor thefvture Future Plans. Our future policy has not changed with respect to large speculative event5; the slow and steady approach whkh has been the mainstay to our post covid recovery 55 payln8 off both in terms of financial stability, bulldln8 upkeep and adequate reseThes. Wlth the above in mind, we dkl run a large Indlan Festlval for the 8rowing Indlan population In thls area. The event Wa5 50 successful with rn0￿ people sn attendance than was antlcipated. They wlsh to come a8ain next year so thls will have to be addressed The relocatlon of our resident preschool to their own bespoke area has been successful in so far as we are far More flexlble and wlll allow larger cultural events to take place without the fear of the halls not beln8 ready for the preschool on a Monday morning. However, 8overnment tar8ets on preschool places means we will have to once agaln use space in the centre to help as the government want more places with no real income to the pre5chool& We wlll coTr￿ntrate on gi￿n8 our existing group5 the best possible service as there are schools and churth halls out there that can provlde this service at a subsldised rent. Declaratlon The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees report above: Slgned on behalf of the Trustees John Thomas Chalrpetson Date:. 29th December 2024
