SHOTGATE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF SHOTGATE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Shotgate Community Association ('the charity,) for the year ended 30 June 2022 which comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and related notes. Th?s report is made solely to the charity's trustees, as a body, in accordance with s¢ction 145 of the Charities Act 201 l. My work has been undertaken so that l rnighi slate to the charity's trustees those matters l am required to state to thern in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent perniitl¢d by law, I do not a¢oept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the Charity's trustees as a body, for my work, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed. Responsibilities and basis of report As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5)(b) of the Act. An independent examination does not involve gathering all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently does not cover all the matters that an auditor considers in giving their opinion on the financial statements. The planning and conduct of an audit goes beyond the limited assurance that an independent examination can prov2de. Consequently l express no opinion as to whether the financial statements present a 'tru¢ and fair, view and my report is limited to thos¢ specific matters set out in the independent examiner's statement. The Association’s objective is to benefit the residents of Shotgate by providing a facility to promote education, social welfare, recreation and leisure activities. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
Shotgate Community Hall is well used throughout the week. The activities which are held there cater for all ages and include: A daily play group, an over 50’s group, Grove Social Group, a wine circle, a karate group, a line dancing class, and ladies keep fit. The hall is hired regularly to celebrate family birthdays, weddings etc. The Social committee organises a programme of dances, quizzes etc. throughout the year for the enjoyment of the community. Trustees have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission Summary of the main on public benefit. activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We have a rollling programme of improvement to the Hall.with remedial work carried out as needed main hall. We have installed a hearing loop, which has been a welcome addition to the users of our hall. We havee a growing number of people wishing to hire the hall and join the various activities which take place. Our Association continues to be the social hub for the residents of Shotgate.
