ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE CHAIRMAN'S REPORT It is with grBat pleasure that I present this yearfs Annual Report for Highwotsd Village H811. Over the past year, we've ctsntinued to build on our surLesses, strengthen our communty ties. and make meaningful improvements to the hall's facilTbes and sust8inability. A major milestone has been the expansion of our solar energy $yst$m. We have now maximised the available rotsf space with the insta112tion of additional solar panels, taking another important step toward energy self-5uffiaency and reduang our dependen￿ on the grid. I wtsuld like to extend special thanks to David Cameron for oversèeing the oryani$alion and c>rder of the new panels. OUT open foyer area remains a welkloved space for residents and visitors 31ike. It has becoma 8 regular meeting point for parerts, local groups, and passers-by. As part of our community focus, we continue to offer a free b<)ok exchange and a seed bank. along with complimentary Coffee and hot chocolate for those who stop in. Communty events remain a key part of what we do. One highlight eoch year is the December tractor njn pro￿ssion, during which we open our doors and share festive refreshments with all who attend. As always, l am In¢￿￿lty￿ grateful to our dedicated trustees and committee members who work tirele551y to ensure the hall remains dean, modern, welcoming, and finanaally sustainable. Our bookings continue to increase. reffecting the v8lue the h811 brings to the local area. Our thanks as ahtkys goes to Edmund Garr LLP for providing the Charty with expert accounting and independent examination setmce. FINANCIAL REVIEW Our receipts and payments accounts show net payments of £11.072 in the year {2024- nel receipts of £3651. The deficit wss due lo expenditure on additional s(>lar pands as mentioned above. At the year end the charity had cash balances lotslling £54,655.

In addilTOn reserves will be usèd to fund future improvements lo facilities. STRUCTUR4 GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The Trust is constituted under a Trust Deed dated 5th August 1949 and was registered as ¢*arity on 8th May 1963. The Highwood Village Hall Committee are a management committee publicly elected al the AGM every September lo manage the Trust. All members arè volunteers and retire annually at the AGM where new representatives of the Parish or user groups have the opportunity to put themselves fotward and join the Highwood Village Hall Commtttee. Thè Highwood Village Hall Cornrnittee ¢onsists of no more than 15 members and the qUOTurn shall never be less than a third of the L)Jmmittee members.
