Chairman’s Report 2022
Certainly, this year has changed dramatically from the last. Since last September when Covid rules were relaxed hirers have now got back into their normal places. Grants to Village Halls have helped keep the Hall paying it’s way, people are now on their 4[th] vaccine dose and now although we’re still hearing of positive testing for the virus there is less actual illness than there used to be. The encouragement from the Hall is still for hirers to be sensible while hiring the Hall and should also encourage their attendees to be so too although I do feel the public are not being quite so careful as they used to be. It looks like hand sanitiser will be an ongoing item.
I would also like to thank the Committee for their support for this last year.

Booking Secretary’s Report AGM June 22, 2022
Our lovely Village Hall is at the heart of the community once again.
We currently have 17 regular groups that meet at the hall weekly, ranging from messy play for toddlers to Line Dancing and Zumba Gold for more senior members of our community.
We have a waiting list for regular evening slots but still have a few unfilled daytime slots.
Darby & Joan, Women’s Institute and Parish Council use the hall for their monthly meetings.
We hosted the very successful NSPCC Panto and we are hosting it yet again next year.
We have a variety of organisations that use the hall regularly: St. Michael's School, Steventon Church, The Batemans Trust, the RBL, Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, Wantage Sings, just to name a few. We have a number of dog clubs using the hall regularly for their meetings and dog shows. Some are local, but most are based in the surrounding counties.
During the year, the hall was also used for a variety of private functions, such as birthdays (daytime children birthday parties are particularly popular), christenings and naming ceremonies, family gettogethers, as well as fundraising events, including quizzes, dances, bingo nights, coffee mornings and various meetings, such as GARD and different organisations from Milton Park.
Weekend daytime bookings are extremely popular, however, the interest to hire weekend evening slots for private functions is quite low compared to pre-pandemic levels
