Public benefrt The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The Iwstees consider that the Charity meets the Charity Cornmi8sion's public benefit requirements in th& advancgmtrnl ol its objects, by promoting agriculture and the countryside, through the holding of the annual Aylsham Agricultural Show, whi¢h Is open lo the genèral public. The Charity makes grants to various charitable causes from a proportion of any surplus made from each show and ancillary gvtrnts. AchSevements and perforniance A good Show which encompassed some substantial changes to the 18youI which We well received. Thè gate was certainly affected by many roadworks and probably shortage of spending fw many. We were 1,500 paying adults d¢)wn tsn the day from pvIOuS peak figures. However, the Show ended up with trading surplus of £12,860 after specific charitable donations of £3,000 handed out in April 2022. and capital expenditure of £7.140 fully writtell off. The Sum of £15.000 will ba distributed as charttable donations in January 2023, leaving our Unrestricted Reserves then at £112,003. Flnanclal rovlew Gate w8$ down on budgot but sponsorship levels maintalned and Trade Stands, Market Lane Stands and Catering Stsnds 811 held up very well. Memberships w8r8 UP with increased subscription levels. Showground costs, including labouT. were up by 35% and this is an area being o108ely scrutinised to see rf savings can be made. The charity was established under a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers of the charitable company and is govemed under its Articles of Asso¢iation, which were amended on 21 January 2014.
