Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Autumn festival
Having freshly taken the helm in September, we
were luck enough to carry on the Autumn
festival in glorious sunshine! The ice cream van
was very popular, along with the helta skelta at
the entrance. It seems the bank knew how
successful we were and literally put a stop to us
taking any payments with cards! Thankfully it
was late in the afternoon and they have been
warned that we were hoping to continue the
success over the year!
We are running this again on October 12th -
please put it in your diaries!
Santa’s Grotto
We took the previous success of the Santa's
Grotto and made it an inside event. Please
note, this was not planned to be a fair – we had
a wonderful team of magical parent elves that
came in and helped to decorate the music room
into Santa’s Grotto, the children’s class
decorated Christmas trees adorned the hall and
we had a couple of craft stalls, sweetie stalls
and game stalls to enjoy. We definitely found
our pizza man couldn’t believe the demand and
we hope to repeat this again…Santa is booked
and his chair is fixed! And we know the next lot
of Year 6 elves are excited!
FOSP Summer Showcase
The FOSP Summer Showcase brought our
year to an end, getting our children to
demonstrate all of their wonderful talents that
they have learned, along with inflatables,
games and BBQ. The feedback has been really
great around the event.
We received an amazing amount of income
from selling advertising space in our
programme, however the programme sales
could have been better. We had a few external
providers come in such as the Scouts crockery
smash, Ashtead Rotary Club and the police
(some of you may have heard the sirens?) and
firefighters also came for a visit. Our key
learnings would be to better direct people to
and from the event from the entrance and
ensure that everyone walked passed the fire
engine.
We also tried mixing things up a bit with the UV
disco for the children, we managed to secure
some discounted tickets for Legoland, our
Boogie bingo night – don’t ask about the bingo
lingo for some of the numbers...had prizes
being won and the dance floor enjoyed! And of
course, most recently we held Roald Dahl’s
Wonky bar day! Learnings definitely include

buying a lot more chocolate!! But everyone seemed to enjoy the visitors and their gifts – including the golden tickets.

Executive Summary

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of FOSP

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the FOSP for the year ended 31 July 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the

2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the

Act; or

  1. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
