The Trust was registered as a Charity on 25 June 1986. ils registration number being 294688. The Trustee body consists of the Lrfe Trustee named above who was appointed by the Selller, a Representative of Rotary Club of Oxford and any additional trustees 8PSK)inled by the Trustees Iprovided that the lolal number of Trustees does nol exceed 151. The suilabilily for post of potential new trustees is considered by the existing Board members. including their qualifications for the role. Particular emphasis is placed upon the apFK)inlmenl of Trustees with knowledge and experience relevant to the Chariliy's actsvilies. Candidates musl receive a majority vote from other Board members lo be elected. Risk Management The Trustees have identified the major risks which may affect the Charity and have taken reasonable steps lo miligale those risks. Objectives and activities The objectives of the Charity are primarily charitable purposes connected with the City of Oxfo¢d and ils immediate neighbourhood and ils inhabilanls as the Trustees shall from lime lo lime at their discretion eleimine andlor such other charitable purposes Iwhelher or nol connected with the City of Oxford and ils inhabitants as the Trustees shall in like manner delerminel. The Tnjstees have been meticulous since the dealh of the settler in having yearly accounts prepared and examined by independent accounlanls and their responsibilities for proper dealing with the Charills business are taken very seriously. The Trustees meet approxirnalely every 9 weeks lo consider the applications,. their average attendance is six. The Trustees confirm that they have referred lo the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Trust's aims and objectives and in planning future aclivrf(ies and setting the grant making policy for the year. Administration expenses, including governance costs. amounted to £17,908 (2022.. £11,532). All grants are itemised in a report attached lo the Minutes of Meetings. Thefreehold and leasehold properties, which are held for investment, have been included in the accounts al market value. All the residential properties and the comm6rcial property were revalued in April 2023. The Trustees held the assets of the Trust in accordance with their powers during the year. The Trustees have absolute discretion lo invest the funds of the Trust. No restrictions are placed on these FX)wers. They have delegated the management of investments lo stockbrokers Charles Stanley. For this purpose. the Trustees have established systems lo monitor financial performance and to forecast the future comtnilmenls and reserves for a mlnimum of 18 months ahead. Where any potential shortfall is identified, the Trust has a policy of amending ftjture activities or cutting overhead costs in order to maintain a sufficient 18v&I of unreslri¢led reserves. This policy is reviewed on an annual basis. TRUSTEES. RESPONSIBILITIES Charity law fequires the TfUSte6s to prepare accounts for each financial year which give a true and fair view of Ihe stale of af18irs of the Trust and of the surplus or deficit of the TrLssI for thal period.
