The trust deed is specific about helping the patients of the Holts Health Centre and the staff servicing them. The Charity therefore works closely with the Medical Practitioners who are represented as a minority on the Trustee Board.

The priority of the Trustees is to meet patients’ needs ensuring there is sufficient income by maintaining the value of the trust’s assets by utilising the services of professional investment managers.

The provision of benefits for the patients of the Holts Health Centre, being members of the general public residing in Newent and the surrounding area, of those services where the NHS does not make provision.

Having regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission the trustees have provided counselling services and purchased an electronic couch, redacting software for the surgery and three dermatoscopes.

The Trustees continue to publicise the Trust and to seek to identify suitable beneficiaries.

The Trust Fund received a further £125,000 as part of the legacy from Barbara Clifford.

The main expenditure is paying Gloucestershire Counselling Services for the provision of counselling to patients of Newent Surgery. Patient contributions were back to pre-Covid levels and amount to approximately 25% of the cost.

The large legacies received in 2023 and 2025 have been invested by Brewin Dolphin into Government Bonds and other securities that keep the Charities’ risk at a low/medium level.
