Financial report for Dittisham Village Hall Management Committee

Year ending 30[th] April 2022

The major building project was completed and the hall became available once more for hire. Hire revenue returned and was above pre-pandemic levels [£7635] as hoped. Hire revenue though has been very dependent on one user [Buckingham Dance Studios] and efforts are being made to broaden our income.

The 100 club remains a very important contributor and thanks are due to Nicky Moulsdale for growing the club’s support.

The income figures look healthy on the surface but it should be noted that we received two years worth of grants from DPC in one year, and we benefited from the Wish List appeal and a significant Gift Aid rebate. Miscellaneous income also includes the incentive payment [£1500] derived from the switch of our bank account to the Co-Op Bank. These will not be repeated in 2022/3.

Utilities costs were higher than the previous year and look likely to continue to rise into the coming year.

General repairs included work on the roof, the electrical system and general building/decoration. Much needed work on the retaining walls is budgeted for 2023, and we are planning for regular decoration inside and out to keep the hall in great condition.

Overall, a surplus of £12286 was achieved for the year but we are budgeting for break even in 2023.
