Dear Jo and Olga
Mayor of the London Borough of Enfield Appeal Fund 2023-24
INTRODUCTION
Historically the Independent Examiner’s report on the financial statements of the Mayor of the London Borough of Enfield Appeal Fund has been signed by the s151 officer. This is following an independent examination of the financial statements by Internal Audit.
The financial statements are for the years ended 30 June and the above process has been followed for the financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2024.
Internal Audit has carried out the independent examination for the year ended 30 June 2024 and the financial statements were approved by the Trustees at their AGM on 9 December 2024.
Although there is no legal requirement for an audit or independent examination, the Trustees have opted to have an independent examination carried out.
This letter has been prepared to support your independent examination of the Mayor of Enfield’s Appeal Fund 2023-24. It sets out the work completed by the Internal Audit team and any key findings arising from this work.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
The Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP): Accounting and Reporting by Charities provides guidance for charities preparing accounts on an accrual’s basis. We have identified from SORP FRS102 that as a smaller charity, the Mayor of Enfield’s Appeal Fund is exempt from preparing a cash flow statement.
