There had been 556 Pod visits by mid March when all visits were suspended due to the corona virus pandemic. During the course of the year both Pod and the hospitals carried out Risk Assessments and stricter Infection Control Guidelines were introduced but there were only a further 14 visits towards the end of the year at 3 hospitals. As with all Pod visits, these visits were a huge success and the hospitals reported that the benefit children and their families derived from the visits far outweighed the low risk involved.
