Charities Activities and Achievements during the year in relation to its
objectives:
The Trustees continue to hire the village hall and its grounds to clubs, societies and local organisations. Many hirers are long standing and all serve the local community.
Work Planned for 2020-2021

Remove trees along the southern boundary of the carpark.

Repair damage to carpark caused by trees.

Repair/ renew roof to outside toilet area.

Refurbish and decorate outside toilet area.

Renew all fascia`s, soffits and gutters on the building.
Work completed 2020-2021

The outside toilet area was re roofed and decorated.

The work on the fascia`s and soffits was delayed by the covid restrictions and is now planned for the autumn half term week in October 2021.

The work on the trees has been put back as nonessential and the damaged area of the carpark has been cordoned off.
Work Planned for 2021- 2022

Renew the fascia`s, soffits and gutters.

Assist in creating a community garden at the rear of the building.

Renew fencing to the right of the main gate.
The covid restrictions continued to affect the clubs and societies that use the hall and many have lost membership during 2020/2021. We have had to agree with a number of these that they can pay a reduced hire charge for a temporary period whilst they hopefully recover. This has had an impact on our income during the year.

We received no grants during 2020-2021. Other than covid related business grants.
Donations
No donations were received this year.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES ON THE UNAUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF THE BADSHOT LEA VILLAGE HALL
In accordance with the terms of our engagement and in order to assist you to fulfil your duties, we have examined the financial statements of The Badshot Lea Village Hall for the year ended 31 July 2021 which comprise the Income and Expenditure Account, the Balance Sheet, and the related notes from the accounting records and information and explanations you have given to us.
This report is made to the Trustees, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement. Our work has been undertaken so that we might report to the Trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Trustees as a body for this report.
We have carried out this engagement in accordance with technical guidance issued by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and have complied with the ethical guidance laid down relating to members undertaking the independent examination of financial statements.
By approving the Balance Sheet as at 31 July 2021 you have acknowledged your duty to ensure that the Trustees have kept proper accounting records and to prepare financial statements that give a true and fair view. You consider that The Badshot Lea Village Hall is exempt from the requirement for an audit for the period.
We have not been instructed to carry out an audit of the financial statements. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the financial statements.
