Peter Bacon and Stephen Thompson were elected as trustees at the charity’s annual general meeting on 23[rd] June 2026 and remain in office at the date of this report.

The charity does not have any custodian trustees.

Structure Governance and Mangement

Type of governing document:	Constitution adopted on 20 July 1978 as amended on 17thMay 1999, 26thMay 2011, 15thMay 2019 and 21st November 2025.
Constitution:	Unincorporated association.
Trustee selection:	Officer trustees are elected annually at the annual general meeting. Ordinary trustees (those not holding office) are elected for a three year term.

Meetings:

The charity’s committee comprising the trustees and up to three coopted members meet at least three times per year. Standing agenda items are reports from the Chairman, Chief Coordinator, Membership Secretary and Treasurer. Any other matters relevant to the management of the charity are also tabled.

Other governance and management

The charity has the following policies (amongst others) in place: •Enhanced DBS checks for all roles. •Drivers aged 75 and over are required to undertake and pass a driving assessment every two years in order to continue volunteer driving. The charity is affiliated to the Good Neigbhours Network (GNN) enabling sharing of ideas and best practice. In addition the charity is able to use GNN’s scheduling software for managing drives.

Objectives and Activities

Objectives and Activities
Summary of the objectives of the charity	Alton Community Care (ACC) is established for the purpose of benefiting the community in Alton, and surrounding district in Hampshire. Volunteer members provide transport to medical and medically related appointments..
Summary of the main activities undertaken in relation of the objectives.	During the year the charity’s approximately 50 volunteer drivers transported people to hospital appointments, doctors surgeries, dental appointments and visits to sick relatives. Over the year approximately 80,000 miles were driven mainly to destinations in Hampshire and Surrey with occasional drives to Salisbury, Oxford and London. The trustees are grateful for the many hours that our member volunteer drivers and coordinators have spent on the charity’s activities.

Financial Review

The main source of funding is donations made by those using our services. The charity makes no charge for transporting people and transportation is not contingent on a donation.

The main expense of the charity is the cost of journeys. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles for transport and are reimbured their costs at a rate not exceeding the HMRC Approved Mileage Rate.

The charity incurred a deficit of £11,630 in the year ended 31[st] March 2026. The charity’s reserves at 31[st] March 2026 were £37,136. The charity’s policy is to

maintain reserves of at least £10,000 to cover unforseen expenses and capital expenditure.
