2022 Scout Treasurer Report

Our 2022 accounts show we have increased our income and expenditure compared to the previous year which clearly shows the return to scouting has been embraced by all.
Income £44,113.72 less expenditure £45,619.32 = loss of £1,505.60
Our overall cash balances of £30,409.04 as of the 12.01.2022 partly exists for our long-term plan to fund the replacement scout hut building.
If there are any in-depth financial questions on the accounts, I would be happy to discuss them with you at the end of the meeting.
We continue to let our HQ on a long-term basis, to a preschool, Apple Blossoms. This will continue until September 2023. At this point we will look to going back to ad-hoc lettings as the need for us to have access to the scout hut for scouting has increased post covid.
As an Executive this took a long time to consider, and as this would be a loss in income, but as a charity we feel the need for the children in the community is greater and we will look at increasing our fund raising.
The Gift Aid scheme allows a UK charity to claim back the tax that you pay in subscriptions and donations. It is vital as a group we can claim gift aid where possible this is very simple and costs you nothing at all, but can bring in vital funds for the group
