Summary of the objects of the charity, set in its governing document: To promote the beneflt of the inhabitant5 of Enfield Highway and the neighbourhood without dlstinction of sex or of political, religious or other oplnions by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of Ilfe for the said inhabitants. Summary of the maln *lvities in relation to these objects: To establish a Communlty Centre and to malntain and manage, or to co-operate with any local statutory authorlty in the maintenance and management of such a Centre for activities promoted by the Association and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects. Summary of the maln achievements of the charity durln8 the year. One regular hirer ceased durlng the year - BT Veterans. Three new regular hirers commenced - Dance Fitness, Movement Meditation and Nicoleta FStness.
Seventeen regular hirers continued from the previous year, AA Stepping into Recovery, AA Pollsh. AA Sunday, Age UK, Blue Bears Holiday Playscheme, Chrisys Redemption, Church of Philadelphla, Deegan Academy of Irish Dancers, Faithlight, Honeywood Karate Academy, Pilates, Saint James Children's Church, Saint James Over 50's Fellowship Group, Sllmming World, Ultimate Moves and Wonderlands Playgroup. At the end of the year there were twenty regular hirers. The Centre was also in use most weekends for fundions 5Ltch as Wedding Receptlon5, Christenln8 and Birthdav Parties, Meetings and Social and Fund-Raising Activities. No major building or maintenance works were requlred during the year. The annual inspections of the gas boiler, emergency lighting, fire alarm, fire extinguishers and air-coollng system were all completed. Internal lighting was replaced throughout most of the Centre with LED fittings. The seating in the Meeting Room wa5 replaced with high quality banqueting chairs. The large scrubberldryer machine and the Henry Vacuum Cleaner were replaced. The telephone. Snternet and an5werlng machine were upgraded to a new digitsl system. Flnanclal review Brlef statement of the charfvs pollcy on reserves: The Trust has established a policy of maintaining a reserve fund based on an average of two year's expenditure plus the cost of renewing the gas boiler (the highest anticipated expenditure iteml, to ensure funds are available to continue to operate in the event of unexpected events, such as the loss of a major hlrer, or external events such a5 a pandemic. For the year 2024/25 the reserve has been set at £135,000. All cash held is unrestricted funds. Any surplus fijnds. which are not likely to be needed to pay for maintenance or management of the Community Centre. are invested to earn interest.
