August 2024 LEAGUE OF FRIENDS ANNUAL REPORT. No. 44 Dear Friends, It is my pleasure to present Southmead Hospltal League of Friends annual report. Firstly, may a say thankyou to all members of the League for your continued support, to the volunteers who staff the coffee shop. to Sandra and the Twstees for your hard work over the past year. Wlthout you all the League could not continue The coffee shop remains our ma5n source of Income and you wlll see by the Treasurers report that the Trustees have been able to agree to fvnd equipment that will benefit patients and staff. Unfortunately, the VAT bill does reduce our funds The Trustees contlnue to meet every 8 weeks and at present are vn)rklng wlth the Trust to design a displav ion the plnk wall bythe coffee shop. It is hoped thatthe display will give information on the work of the League. Also, there are on8oin8 plan5 to have a pillar at 8ate 20 to advertise and direct people to the coffee shop. The committee are in need of new members, and, would ask you to consider putting your name fonvard Recently we have welcomed el8ht new volunteer5 who are under80ing training at the present. Itls hoped that In September the coffee shop wlll be able to open from 2-5pm on Sundays and in October Saturdav openin8 wlll commence. We still need more volunteers so that we can extend Monday to Frlday openings into the Èvening. My thanks extend to Emily. Bwalya and Kat. NBT Volunteer staff, for their support Finally, since the Lea8ue of Friends started at Southmead Hospital in 1977 serving teas and coffees in wooden hut, we have glfted to the Hospital over £ 2,(K)O,(M)O.
