Section D Achievements and performance Stma 's School PTA Treasurerfs Re ort for 2022123 Summary of the maln achievoments of the charty during the year For AGM 18th March 2024 There is more detail below on the financial perfomance but just a reminder that the accounts are prepared on a receipts and paymenls basis, so only monies raised or paid OLrt in the year are included in the figures. The main fund raising a1ville$ in the year were'.- The Summer Fair, made a large surplus of £9,936. All of the stalls contributed greatly to the enjoyment and success of the day. The food and refreshment stalls were very SueSSfUl and served a great variety of multi-cullural food. The raffle was again a big seller with some very generous prizes donated. The tombolas, toys, plants, sweets. bouncy castle, face painting and books did a brisk trade. And beat-the-goalie, ourte$y of Mr Styles, has fast become a very popular fixiure. An enomous thank you to Rachel, Marcella and the fantastic organising team for their tireless efforts, the helpers, publicity team, counters and field team for putting up and taking down the marqu888. And not forgetting the generosity of the local businesses and community who make this event happen so successfully. A scaleddown Winterlxmas Fair still raised an impressive £2,105 this year. It was a splendid event enjoyed by children, parents and teachers alike, and we give special thanks again to Rachel for kindly volunteer5ng to run the event. The Father Christmas Grotto continues lo be the highlight. We are very fortunate that we have parentslcarers within the school community willing lo give up lime to organise and run these ev8nt8 that generate funds that we can use to help the sGhool. Finally, the Uniform Shop, including Used Uniform, whilst only making a small profrt per item, is a great asset for the parentslcarers and we should say a big thank you lo Rachel and team for giving up so much of their time lo run this for us. So how did we use the monies raised? We spent £4,409 on running the events detailed above - this was included in the surplus of each evenl discussed above - and £9,373 on uniform. £2,000 was spent to fund an &4L licence, to give invaluable support to pupils with English as an addrtional language, including many who arrived from Ukraine, to help them progress more quickly during class and integrate into the school. And £965 was spent on resources for the whole school, including resources for literacy and maths. We funded £700 for the Year 6 Leavers, Book which is professionally printed and gives the children a lasting reminder of their time at St Mary's as they move onto secondary school. TAR Marth 2012
Section D Achievements and performance In summary, the Friends of Sl Mary's continue lo be able to support the school's educational aims by raising significant sums of money but this has only been possible by those who volunteer their time so willingly and the great generosity of the local businesses and communrty who support us. Finally, I would like to thank Rena Kiani for being the IndeFendent Examiner for this year. Section E Financial review We have a deposit account which remains untouched at over £8,000.
