The Museum is a rsgistored charity number 272357 and is governed by.. Tfustees Deed Declaration dated 13 Octob8r 1976. - Trustees Deed document T80ISI 193.. SC 272 357 dated 11 May 1998, arnended by - Trusteès Dggd document W90 197.. SC 272 357 dated 6 March 1997. The Museum has Accreditation status (No. 6281 th Art5 Council Eroland IACEI. Historully, tha t6rm 'Warwickshire' relates to the currgnt county boundary together with the East8rn 8fKI Southern portion ol the West Midland5, namely part ol the City of Birmingham, the City of Coventry, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield. The Musèum Is now IrmlY opgratiorsal in its nèw location Pageant House - in the centre of Warwick town and n8Xt to the Tourist Information office. A¢tlvltl8$ Durlng the Year 2023-24 The General Managar has conntrated on opening up thè museum to widgr audiences in the hope of generating additional footfall. This has been achieved by the provision ol children'5 activities and reenactor displays dufing hall terms and holidays. These have been most successlul and have generated go(xJ publicity in th& local press for the musaum and Incldentally for The Flegiment. Further examples ol rnaintainiry the museum's visibility to the public have been stalls at oceasiona Saturday Markets in Warwick, a stall at the Viotorian Evening and sponsoring a te in St Mary's Church during their annual Christmas Tree Festival. He also curated a su¢¢essful display of embroidery kvhich had been done by soldiers in Th6 R8gim&nt who were recovering from wounds during the First Great War also while on duty overseas during quiet periods. This attracted a different sector ol th8 visitor community and demonstrated the value of using the museum s artefa¢ts to further our and enhance Our incomè. A very successful monthly g-Newsletter has been inlroduced and the sccial mallia presence has improved significantly with regular posts on Facebook, 'X' Iloimorly known as Twittéfl and Instsgram. Much work has also gone into thè (lèvelopment of the museum's n8w website- wbvw.lusiliermuseumwaMck,com A YouTub8 channel has also bean developed and it 18 planned to bring the output from The Regiment's current Oral Hislory project into play in the museum. Following an access audit on the design of th6 now museum, we received funding to provide greater a¢sS to members of the Deaf and hearing-impair community. The welcome Screen is translated by a visible 8SL interpreter, and our audio displays are linked lo BSL interpretation videos via a QR code. Further work to provide greater gallery access for those wth sight impairment is almost completed.

The opgralion of Th8 Friènds ol thg Museum has be$n refreshed wth a new Chair, Zita Fletcher, who is Arnerican, lives in Washington, USA and is a rnilitary history author and editor.. she wrote the very readable book on FM Montgomery - The Art of War. The series ol rnonthly talks ¢ontinu8$ on a hybrid in person lin our newly refurbished mg8ting room) and Zo)m basis. Following the success ol the Museurn Newsletter, thts Fiignds have launchad a Ihree-time5 a y9ar Journal bmth in depth articles relating lo th8 history ol The Regirnelll. In August, the museurn in partnership wtth The Warwickshire Yeornanry Musèum took part in a Gallipo1i evant sponsored by the Gallipoli A$soeiation, with several displays, lectures by Peter Hart and WW1 Re- enactors. Although, RegITh8nta11y, Gallipoli is a Lan¢ashire Fusiliers action, 9th Bn The Royal Wa1ck$hIre egiment also took part. W8 have made a successful start wilh our educational museum-based and outrèach programmes. The General Manager is a qualilie(I teacher and 'speaks the liwo.. He organised a very successful pilot projèct with W8Stgate Primary School in Warwick whieh was funded by Wgst Midlands Museum Development. This engaged the pupils in history. art, and music activities WhCh wère all related to the rnuseum collections and the history of the R8gimènt. From this project, a n8w lèarning brochure has been produced to protnote the tntsseum's learning offer to schools in the region. The Trustee Board has bgen refreshed by the addition ol two recently retirgd sanior officers from The R8gimenL each ol whorll has operational experience Ilfaq and Alghanistanl. In summary, a positive first year in our new location ¥th a refreshed display which brings the reglment stories up to datè to include more recent conflicts such as Afghanistan. Financially, despit8 the improvements to the muset5m operations, funding remains a ¢hall8nge.
