LEWES AND DISTRICT VISUAL ARTS ASSOCIATION AND NO'S 1 AND 2 PADDOCK STUDIOS

ANNUAL REPORT FOR YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2021

Activities and achievements

We held our first AGM for 2 years due to the Covid lockdown. The studios were closed for most of 2020 and were open/shut many times but eventually opening in May 2021.

We had to refund numerous courses, that were meant to have been running and we halted payments from our resident artists for their studios as and when we could.

We were very lucky to have received almost £28,000 from Lewes District Council via their grants scheme, which has enabled us to be so generous with suspending studio hire charges and studio rentals and we hope that this has been of some help within the artistic community.

Financial review

Total receipts for LADVAA amounted to £22,950 (2020 - £19,794). Total payments amounted to £23,738 (2020 - £2,546) leading to a decrease in reserves of £788 (2020 - increase of £17,248).

Total receipts for Paddock Studios amounted to £36,850 (2020 - £20,583) which included a donation of £22,991 from Lewes & District Visual Arts Association. Total payments amounted to £36,850 (2020 - £20,583).

During the year the following amounts were reimbursed to members of the Executive Committee for expenses incurred on behalf of the charities.

Mr P Bushell 250
