Ken( ME8 OPN 31st December.2022 The last finationa112 months have been a very difficuft time for the hall. Wrth covid restrictions we were unable to open the hall and numerous dubs and social functions were cancelled. Following the govemment's covid regulations. when we were able to re-open it was with a minimum number of people for the size of the hall. This has had a direct outcome on our abilty to donate to charities. Although wa had no income, with the exception of a small grant from Medway Council, we still had to maintain the running of the buikling. including heating costs etc. The charity is managed by a board of trustees on behalf of Durobrivae Lodge which consists of 34 members. The 5 Trustees are all members of the lodge and are appointed by the members. The management of the hall is delegated by the Trustees to a hall committee represented by one or more Trustee and representstives from each masonic order who meet at the Howard Hall. Durobrivae Lodge collects charitable donations from members and visitors at 8 yearty meetings by various means including raffles and alms collections. The amounts collected are then donated to both masonic and non-masonic charitable causes as agreed by Lodge membership. During the past financial year £610.00 was donated in this manner. The management of the hall is by committee as indicated above with income derived from masonic and non-masonic users by a charge for hall use. The non-masonic users range from a nursery club to retirement clubs and embrace all age groups and sectors of the community. On occasions the hall is used for wedding receptions and christenings, this also includes what is known as a . Darby and Joan ' club with free use of the hall for many as a benefrt to our local communty. The accounts reveal the various forms of income which in addition to masonic and non masonic includes fees charged to caterers who use our kitchen facilities to various hall users and from our licensed bar which is managed by one of our Trustees. Costs of managing the hall are as listed in our accounts. There are no separate funds held by Trustee and their roll is entirely voluntary.
